I saw it and I loved it, although you are correct that it seems inspired by the Da Vinci Code. Clearly a lot of research went into the American history it contains, which, as far a I can tell, is accurate.

My mum asked last night to borrow my copy of TDVC and my brother has lent me the other books by Dan Brown.

A very weak aping of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and the Indiana Jones movies mixed no-so-cleverly with elements of "The Da Vinci Code." Highly derivitive Hollywood popboiler and just passably a good popcorn movie. Nothing else.

A not horrible travelogue if you want to get to know Philadelphia and don't get FoodTV. I can't recommend anyone paying money to see it.

I saw "National Treasure" too. I thought it was a good movie. After seeing that and after seeing "Gone in 60 Seconds," Nicolas Cage has become one of my favorite actors.

angelhaze, I'll definitely agree about Nicolas Cage. He's been one of my favs since I saw him in Racing with the Moon. I usually find he makes interesting performance choices. I figured that NT must have been something he just did for the $$

Racing with the Moon. Okay, I don't think I've heard of it, but I'll be sure to add it to my mental list of movies I need to see. :p Thanks.

It's one of his quite early works, angelhaze.
If you don't already use, IMDB, definitely check it out.
Here's the link
to a page with his filmography.

Of his latest work, "Matchstick Men" is a great caper movie with an insightful examination of human nature and Cage puts his own indelible stamp on the character. And what an ending!

Lightwizard- I just watched "Matchstick Men" on DVD. Sorry, but my reaction to it was not positive.
I fell asleep in the middle!

Then you missed the crucial part of the movie, of course. I did find it starting slow but it has a big payoff in the final hour.

My wife and I saw "National Treasure". We enjoyed it. Not an Oscar winner, but definitely a worthwhile watch in my book.
