Reply Mon 3 Jan, 2005 04:32 am
i receive spam addressing me by my name (been told this means spy/adware) and i get all sorts of toolbars i don't even want every time i open internet explorer. i now use firefox yet when i check my task manager there are two iexplore.exe processes. they come back each time i remove them. this is a shared computer so I'm not sure if undesirable websites are visited. Help.

thanks
those iexplore.exe processes are gone. toolbars too. thing is, i'm not sure if i did delete all of the 'associated' files.

i have spywareblaster, spyguard, spybot s&d, ad-aware, cwshredder, avg free edition and stinger. which are unnecessary and what more do i need?

argh. there's the toolbar again.

No trouble, should it come back the files will likely look different,
Post back a fresh log if it does come back,

Do you have Admin rights on this machine if so please run HJT and silent runners and post back both logs just to be sure we got everything
