Now that the German elections have ended in a draw, and some form of Grand Coalition of the rival Socialdemocrats of Schroeder and Christian-Democrats of Merkel needs to be forged, Schroeder is setting his cards on an 'Israeli solution'. Just like earlier in Israel, the idea here is, the Chancellorship should be rotated: the first two - ok, one and a half - years Schroeder, then Merkel. Merkel's Christian-Democrats are not biting, though.

msolga, would you do me a favor and post a cartoon of Thomas Nast? He is credited with bringing down a political machine, (Boss Tweed) and today is his birthday.

Thanks, gal!

Thanks, Gus. It has always fascinated me how a cartoon could so influence a corrupt regime.

I recently had an idea for a cartoon, if I had such talent.

.....A picture of a man with a big hat pulled over his eyes, wearing a raincoat, with a resume` stuck under his arm........Applying to the censor board!.....Imean, is that a perfect job for perverts or what?

...As a matter of fact.....hmmm...... Rolling Eyes
