My current computer is pretty well filled up. I need a new one. I have a great screen, good speakers, a funtioning keyboard and mouse, a great video card. I just need the tower with up to date software and more memory, a discwriter would be good. Any recommendations? And, any estimates on how much I'll be spending?
Aha! I just ran a virus scan (hadn't since 12/10) - I had a trojan virus. I guess that could have been slowing things down.

run through this
Post It will clean up your system a bit,
Post back a HJT log and lets see what else is running,
yikes...... I do some of that stuff regularly, though I haven't deleted temp files in safe mode in a while. I have Adware and am now using Mozilla instead of IE. I seem to get conflicting reports from different techies (my b-in-l often tells me different stuff).
By the way, Don, thanks for the help, I'll run through that thread later - now I have to get outside into the sunlight!
