@blacksuzaku,
It could have been if the letters had made an easily-discernable pattern (say, for example, they spelled out the question or something).

On a related note, the question is fewer than 400 words, and I couldn't get it down to 400 characters, even if I didn't include numbers, spaces, or punctuation.

Also, couldn't find anything via page source.

Didn't see anything with a quick check of base conversions. It's also not likely because we have 9s and no letters in our numbers.

@rowanmikaio,
Or maybe I'm just dumb and forgot what I was doing. Derp.
I was really dumb. Haha. I thought I had it and then I realized that I was using the stuff that I "didn't know yet" That is, I was using the number itself to figure it out.

In other news, I got an error on my calculator that I've never gotten before. I tried to do a sinusoidal regression (because I'm that far down in the barrel of ideas and we know some numbers repeat) and got "ERR: SINGULAR MAT" I'm assuming it was longer and got cut off by the end of the screen, but I have no idea what it means.

@rowanmikaio,
That basically means that a solution doesn't exist, or if it does, your calculator couldn't find it.

@rowanmikaio,
LOL I'm looking into sinusoidals also

What level of maths do you think should be required for this?

@blacksuzaku,
Wait i just noticed something, may be nothing or something, but it says a few feet later he saw "134" do you think "a few feet" might be something?

@vvktv,
Hahah well i dont think neopets would ask you to be going into huge levels of maths i mean it is a website for the young

@raghav123123,
I don't know, they've asked for calculus-level math before.

Also - I'm wondering about the "a couple of them were repeated numbers". What sort of pattern would yield repeated numbers, with most of them still being unique?

I think we might be overthinking this.

If it has repeated numbers, then it may not be a mathematical equation. Maybe the answer lies within Neopia itself? A key word that jumped out at me was "Meri Acres Farm". Why so specific? Maybe there's something there that will help us.

@blacksuzaku,
Truee, i dont know, i think im gonna go poke around in meridell. see if some page sources or shopkeepers or farm reveal anything that could help. repeated numbers... i dont think this majorly has to do with math for some reason.

@raghav123123,
The source code for Meridell yields nothing useful. At first I was wondering about the coordinates of the locations on the map, but none of those numbers match anything useful.

... On a side note, I'd completely forgotten about that old Tower of Turnips XD

@blacksuzaku,
Didn't find anything on the farm or in Brightvale's source code either (remember that Brightvale and Meridell are connected by a dirt path)

@rowanmikaio,
"SINGULAR MAT" would be a "singular matrix" - it's kinda vague, though. I've seen a singular matrix in a regression before as a result of data being repeated or too similar (like if in a linear regression, one of your independent variables is actually just double the other one). Not exactly sure what it means with sinusoidal regression... But this stuff really doesn't look very sinusoidal.

Thought it might be the item numbers of prizes, but that doesn't seem right. If they're sorted by ID and not by competition number, 84 is Fried Egg, 134 is Hot Dog, and 218 is Drawing Pencil, all of which don't seem to have been prizes at all. And if they're not sorted, LC 8's prize was a Shadow Paint Bush, but the eighth number (551) corresponds to Balthazar the Bounty Hunter.

[edit] Doesn't seem to be Mystery Pic prizes sorted by ID. We don't know what the first few prizes for Mystery Pic competitions were, though.

@Mappy,
Okay, glad that works. Just made an account to help out you guys Smile

Sooo whether you feel the need to believe people, I just read a board about a girl who seems to have found a mathematical pattern, and using the pattern she manually goes to the 400th term. Obviously she didn't say what it is, but just a suggestion to avoid thinking Neopia -wise?
And of course, she could be trolling. But it didn't seem like it!

Though it's very likely people here already know, someone on the neoboards has found the answer:

http://www.neopets.com/neoboards/topic.phtml?topic=146872601&next=1

However, they do not give any hints besides you could figure out the answer with Excel =/

lol, didn't see your post x)

I don't think she's trolling either.
