But, guys I thought that since there is a remaining after each pet ate ...Shouldn't the omelette be left with 31.4%?

@LaLaaaa,
Oh I was just saying that when I calculated the original amount of omelette and compared it to the amount remaining at the end, I found that the 12 Neopets had eaten about half of what was there originally. It wasn't supposed to be any particular clue, except for the people that were getting really huge 16 and 19 digit numbers, to say that I thought their values were too large.

@wertyiu102,
use this equation and continue on

Final amount after everyone eats: 878912

878912 / (1-0.075) = Amount before Jetsam
Amount before Jetsam / (1-0.012) = Amount before Buzz
....
So on.

No, because each successive Neopet is eating a percentage of a smaller amount. Let me give you an example. If you start with 100 dollars and start giving some friends 10% of what you have left each time, then you'll give the first friend 10 dollars and have 90 left. But you'll only give the second friend 9 dollars and have 81 left. Then the third friend will get $8.10 and you'll have $72.90. The fourth friend will get $7.29 and you'll have $65.61. You'll have given each of four friends 10% of your money, but since you calculated it on the remaining amount each time, you won't be down to $60, but instead at $65.61 still.

To think of it another way,
Final amount = Amount before Jetsam - Amount Jetsam eats

Now the amount the Jetsam eats is 7.5% of what is there before he eats. We can express 7.5% as a decimal .075, so
Amount Jetsam eats = .075 * Amount before Jetsam

Substituting this in,
Final amount = Amount before Jetsam - .075 * Amount before Jetsam
Final amount = 1 * Amount before Jetsam - .075 * Amount before Jetsame
Final amount = (1 - .075) * Amount before Jetsam

@lennyfan,
I thought the original one was more challenging. I guess they'll have to count those answers correct as well.

ok...I got a 16####9.3 (that is Moehog before)...
So, 16####9.3*0.05 is the round up give you 82##1..The figure sum up to a 13...is it correct?

@erinbres,
With one more * at the end. I have a 7-digit, not a 6-digit number, since a 6-digit number would be less than what was there after everyone finished eating.

Yes, that definitely would be more challenging, but I don't expect them to count those answers as correct. If they had specified original omelette and then corrected it to remaining, then maybe, but since they just left off the remaining, I'll doubt they'll accept extra answers.
