S is in deSert but not in the rain
A is not in sunshine, but found in the rAin
N is in coltzaN, not amira
D is in pyramiD, not a temple or hut

just ask Coltzan, Amira knows not.
And end in the pyramid

Pyramid

take out AM from "Amira"

Pyrmid

Ends in mid? ... at least a d?

Is that almost a guess? because you know... DEandT isn't in "rain" either...

R isn't in Sunshine either...

etc... ..

Is there more reasoning behind it? or... is it just a word you found...

Even tho it does link with the plot.

edit>

Ohhh i get it... in "THE rain... i get it... lemme check ur answer..."

"Put them together, and your next task's in hand."

How can Sand be a task?

Mostly a guess, from the line "put them together, your next task's in hand".

At the latest point of the plot we are tasked to clearing the pyramid of sand by hand.

Others are guessing it has something to do with dead or death, but sand seems to make more sense. I could be way off though.

if it's refering to letters... then it means put the letters toggeather... get it?

Edit>

Ok... the letters that seem to fit are...

DS

TRA

COLTZN

YDI

Lets see if there are any other possibilties...

(good old anagram finder XD) although i can't find one that doesn't use all the letters in the thing tho ><

could the line that has to do with coltzan and amira be referring to coltzan being a king and amira is not?

I'm still working on this but it is a diferent way to think about the riddle rather then just mixing and matching letters

It starts in the desert but not in the plain,
But then? Not in sunshine, but found in the rain

This clue will give us the first part of the answer.

After that, just ask Coltzan, Amira knows not.

would be the second part

And end in the pyramid; not a temple or hut

ends the riddle...

put the 3 answers together to get the final solution. I'm not sure if I know enough about the world of neopets to solve this. But im going to try Smile

trying...
this seems cryptic:

Put them together, your next task's in hand.
And perhaps a great city will return to this land

THIS land... does the answer refer to a place? or a task?
it doesn't make much sense to me...

But didn't Prince Jazan ask Princess Amira for her "hand" in marriage? Maybe the answer referring to a task has something to do with Princess Amira marrying the Prince in order to bring the city back.

Also, if you play the game Pyramids, there is a map of some sort displayed after playing. So maybe that map has something to do with the last line in the riddle since it says it ends in the pyramid

actually the map of some sort is a clue to the door you have to find in the temple of 1000 tombs which is not related to the lenny conundrum but part of the lost desert plot

Put them together, your next task's in hand.

starts in desert...not in plain...
desert starts with D, followed by E

not in sunshine, but found in the rain...
A is in rain, but not in sunshine

just ask Coltzan, Amira knows not...
we'll come back to this...

end in pyramid, not a temple or hut...
the letter D

so...that spells DEAD.

now...just ask Coltzan, Amira knows not...
[/I]Coltzan is dead...so naturally he knows all about BEING dead, would he not? And Amira isn't dead, so she won't know squat about it.[/I]

Put them together, your next task's in hand.
perhaps to fight off the unDEAD armies of Qasala? that sounds like a task...

And perhaps a great city will return to this land.
possibly...Qasala? in its day, Qasala was a great city...but if not Qasala, this could also mean Sakhmet...Sakhmet can be brought back to this land if we prove victorious over the unDEAD armies of King Jazan and Qasala?

i dunno, any of this making any sense to anyone?

Well, the dead are supposed to end up in a pyramid, so we have the word dead but I'm wondering if the word "the" means anything before each clue in the riddle. I was trying to think of things pertaining to the desert, the rain and a pyramid. I have no idea how rain is related to the desert and a pyramid, but I was thinking that according to chapter 6, Nabile and Tomos are trying to find Sakhmet. So, I think the task would be to find the undead and bury them in the pyramid.
