A Grarrl was walking down a path one day when Illusen appeared in front of it. "Solve this puzzle, and you may pass," she said.
Another ancient tomb in the Lost Desert has the following grid of letters engraved on the tomb door:
If the correct letters are engraved on the tomb door, it will open. However, the last column of letters is missing.
If you figure out what the missing letters are and read down the last column of letters, what will it spell? For example, if the last column's letters were A, B, C, D, E, and F, you would submit "ABCDEF". Please submit your answer with NO SPACES; do not submit ANY information other than the answer. Otherwise, your submission may be disqualified.
Idea
Any Idea on this one?
Hmmm.. codeing right? maybe
-is just rambling-
nope im not sure. i was hoping an easy one was out this week
we've got to put our heads together
An easy one this week? I've never seen an easy one ever, lol. Maybe I'm just a bit dumb!
.
ive tried various keys on it... with reversing the alphabet and numbering the alphabet... but nothings working or making sense D:
maybe each letter represents a number and they all equal soemthing?
-continues rambling-
Think I got it!
Turn letters into numbers. Row 1 is +8 each time.
Row 2 is +10 each time.
Row 3 is +12 each time, etc.
If you get to 26 restart the count at 1 (there are only 26 ltrs in alphabet)
End up with QASALB.
Ok there are 36 total spaces. 30 w/ letters and 6 blank.
There are
As=1
Cs=2
Fs=1
Gs=2
Hs=1
Is=3
Js=2
Ks=3
Ms=2
Ps=2
Qs=1
Rs=1
Ss=1
Us=1
Vs=1
Ws=3
Ys=1
Zs=1
.
wow your right!!!! l0ll
How does the LC High Score table work?
I've won the LC like.. a million times, but I still have a silver trophy.
Turn all into numbers (a=1, z=26).
Sum of 1st column = 52 = 26*2
Sum of 2nd column = 104 = 26*4
Sum of 3rd column = 104 = 26*4
Sum of 4th column = 78 = 26*3
Sum of 5th column = 78 = 26*3
Probably just a coincidence, but worth noting I guess.
Let me explain a bit further.
If you turn each letter into a number (A=1, B=2, C=3, etc) then you have:
3, 11, 19, 1, 9
3, 13, 23, 7, 17
11, 23, 9, 21, 7
9, 23, 11, 25, 13
10, 26, 16, 6, 22
16, 8, 26, 18, 10
The first row you add 8 to the preceding number each time. If you get to 26 then the next number is 1 (because there are only 26 letters in the English alphabet).
The second row adds 10 to the preceding number each time.
The third row adds 12, etc.
This gives you the final column as:
17, 1, 19, 1, 12, 2
Translate those numbers into their respective letters and you have QASALB (not quite qasala!)
Hope I got the answer in time for a trophy. This is the first time I have ever worked out a lenny conundrum (after months of trying!)
clarify
is it qasala or qasalb
Checking the high score list people with trophies have 6 points or more... does that mean that even if I'm in the first 250 to guess the answer I won't get a trophy?
QASALB explains the prize --
Basic Spelling Songs -- QASALB is a misspelling of QASALA
I guess they put that last one in there so that anyone who did not work out all the rows would rush and guess Qasala instead.
