At first I thought we just had to figure out the Key letter to break the code, but look at the "word" third from the end. "OOX"

What word is there that has two of the same letters followed by a different letter? I don't think there is one. Sad

Also, if you align, say, A with C, the reverse C will also be aligned with A, so it doesn't quite matter.

I got PASS for the first word, but that makes MOWNFPX for the second... You know, I'll be mad if this is an encrypted anagram! Mad

Most cipher disks only have the 2 wheels of letters, not 3. I'm really confused.

Lots of sound effects, like 'eek', have two of the same letters then a different one.

E is often used as a codebreaker... find what letter appears most often, and try making that letter equal E. If not that letter, try the one that appears second most often... and so on down the line until you find one that works.

I don't think there being three wheels means anything, especially as the outer two are unmoveable and in the same positions. It's a question, so what question word could fit in there? So far all my guesses have been just that. Evil or Very Mad

think it is a shifting cipher, 'doudle letter' and 'E' cracking methods prolly won't work....

I think the OOX is more interesting, what words start with the two same letters?

I think that is a Caesar Cipher and the third wheel is not needed. We just need to figure out the shift.

It's a two step process, one wheel moving forward and one wheel backward so the alphabet doesn't like up normally.

The letters should be the same though, all A's should be the same etc.

I'm labouring over that now with the Vigenere square.

I just don't get this one.. I get the meaning of using a wheel to decipher the code - but the wheel and the code just doesn't make any sense to me!

OK, that makes no sense. I have to say I am really out of ideas...

Hm..

E J Q and S are the only letters not used in the cipher.

I wonder if that has anything to do with anything.

P is the most used letter, appearing 7 times. Next follows O with 6, then X with 5.

Yeah, tragicistari, you need a keyword anyways to do a vigenere square.
