i counted every single np rewards in the news pages, and came up with that exactly: 94,100,863 neopoints.

i used the same technique, but i got the answer 94,098,565

did anyone else get this answer more or less?

The common thread to all the answers that make sense is 94 million plus the "Extra" neopoints.

47 Lennies where NP was awarded during 2007 (Neopian Year 9) x 2million NP awarded == 94 million.

But, since they can't give out fractions of NPs, there are "Extra" neopoints given out each week.

Example, last week.

6336 correct answerers x 316 NP each = 2,002,176

2,176 "extra" neopoints last week.

I Have 47 Lennies in my Excel spreadsheet, with the number of winners in Column A, the prize amount in Column B. Multiplying AxB for each row and putting that in Column C, and then adding all of Column C results in my answer of 94,100,562.

Anyone like to verify?

How do we know the number of winners for current, in case there will be "Extra"?

Doesn't some winners get additional points for having a high score for the month or whatever, or the Lenny game doesn't work this way?

Lenny
I was just recently able to come back and work on the puzzle and I went through all 51 weeks of the news to get the 47 weeks of puzzle statistics and I too came up with 94100863.
Thanks to everyone else who posts here with helpful suggestions/thoughts.

Dear onetimeuser,
Considering the fact that next Wednesday is the day after Christmas, I feel that the Neopets staff will be out on Holiday and there will be NO answer to the current question until the first Wednesday in January.

I also went thorugh the news feature for every week of 2007 (Y9) thus far.

I used my Graphic Calculator (GC) instead of MS Excel. I placed the number of winners of the week in L1 (List 1), and the NP prize per person in tt week in L2 (List 2), & in L3 (List 3), I typed in L1 x L2.

Using another GC function, I created a summation of all the values in L3.

Thus using GC, my ans= sum (L3) = 94100863

I was recently informed of this forum and am very disappointed to find that so many of you are blatantly disregarding the rules of Lenny Conundrum by helping one another cheat. I was even more shocked to see that this has been going on for such a long time. You all should know that it is unethical and therefore not permitted.

My associates and I will be conducting a thorough investigation into this matter. We will examine our records, along with the posts on this forum as well as other websites about Neopets. Those who have cheated and participated in the disclosure of answers will have their accounts frozen.

One can certainly make the argument that people shouldn't "cheat". But asking cheaters please to not cheat seems a little pointless, and has, historically, led only to abuse, especially in the case of the math and science questions.

Over the years, Neopians have consistenly flooded math and science tutoring services with belligerent demands for immediate solutions, pretending (that is, lying) that the Neopets puzzle contests are actually time- and grade-critical math assignments. The abuse has become so blatant that almost all tutoring services now immediately ban anybody caught posting anything related to Neopets.

It is possible that some tutors who have grown weary of the abuse have decided to post the solutions here, so as to protect their real math and science students elsewhere. The liars and cheats can be banned from legitimate sites, and their attentions shifted here.

Granted, this only moves the problem from one location to another. But the tutors didn't create the problem; it hardly seems like they should be castigated for the mess, or required to somehow clean it up.

If Neopets does not like this situation, then may I respectfully submit that, rather than disapproving of people who help others for a living, Neopets could instead take constructive action on its own end. (This assumes, of course, that you are in actuality part of Neopets management.)

Just my opinion, of course; I could be wrong. Rolling Eyes

Eliz.

i just think of how after the first post 3 years ago "neopets administrator" is just now finding out after this after 3 recent posts by wetardit seems really coincidental, just kinda throwing that out there. and am wondering how could neopets find out who goes on this site? can they ask the ppl who created this site for the e-mails and usernames of everyone that posted on here and then they're going to read every post, match usernames to e-mail addys, go to there site fine the addy, and then freeze the user there? also this seems really trivial when u think about all of the spammers, and scammers, and the game challenge cheater ppl, that are STILL not iced after mulitple reports from several users

Why would that information be necessary? I would suspect that they need only to point out to the Able2Know administrators that this thread constitutes an ongoing violation of the Terms of Use to which all Neopians had agreed when they signed up. Then perhaps Able2Know will be added to the growing list of sites which ban Neopians, and the "problem" here will be resolved.

Just my opinion, of course; I could be wrong....

Much of the need for forums like this is to actually see a SOLUTION. Many times, Neopets will post answers which merely read "coconut" or 123456, with no work as to how they actually got to that answer. Solutions like that are frustrating and useless, making many people avoid doing the Lenny altogether.

Were Neopets to post useful solutions more frequently, perhaps the LC would have a much more widespread fan base.

Could it be that I was the one who informed the Neopets staff? Like I've said earlier, I'd like this cheating to stop.

Dear TNT,
1. Took you long enough to find this. I found this site by simply typing lenny conundrum in google.
2. I could say my user account is chucknorris and you would have no proof that it is not.
3. Whether or not you freeze our accounts on neopets we can still post on here and share answers.
4. If you want to even try to freeze the accounts we use on here your luck is low because this site has no affiliation with neopets and probably won't take the time to solve your problems.
5. My final statement is that if you IP track computers and you do not have enough proof to back yourselfs up you could be sued. (Especially if you go into the wrong computer.)

How would they "ban" neopians?
Anyway... able2know would probably ingore TNT's complaint to evade any issues that might come up. It is not their problem or rules so why trouble would they see in it?
