if you calculated the numbers

like 2x2= 4
3x3= 27
1st hour= 427
4x4x4x4= 2nd hour= 256
5x5x5x5= 3rd hour= 312 (5)
this 5 spills over to the 4th hour,so the next hour, the symols dug out 546 cubic inches right? this 5 goes into the 546. the next 2 digits, ie. 46, comes from well, the pattern listed above.

hope that helps, i'm gonna get some shut eye. any doubts, just list 'em here and i'll reply later. yawn.

If you're referring to the latest "Lenny", what objection do you have to the solution which has already been explained?

Please be specific. Thank you.

Eliz.

Perhaps he's referring to back when people gave their answers and reasoning for them (see examples on page 518 and 521)
not holier than thou I'm smarter than you because I know the answer posts.

So do you add them up and then divide by 7?
Or how would you figure the math?

If you can't figure it out from the hints already given (another hint: READ THE QUESTION)... you don't deserve to get the prize.

The answer is now laid out in front out you. If you can't get it from that you never will.

I totally agree with you. I don't know how much clearer we can be in giving hints. We have given the answer practically and it is only fair that they use their own brain a bit in getting the answer. It isn't fair for those that do the work to just give the answer away to others that don't even try to do it on their own at all. I am sorry if this sounds mean and heartless, but I work hard on the LCs and still I have only achieved silver trophy. I think that I will never achieve gold, but one never knows for sure. Best of luck to everyone in the future LCs.

lenny answer
actually what i did was different but i could be wrong

i wrote out the numbers
427
256
312
546
656
823
and noticed that the 2 and 7 in the first number and the 4 and 6 in 546 were the only ones where the last 2 numbers were not consecutive. I used the fill in numbers as my day seven and then totalled all the days together.

i guess we'll have to wait and see.

The man said there was 40 more sweets in the shop why did 80
Hi there,

Can someone help me get the answer for this one???

The man said there was 40 more sweets in the shop why did 80 more people come in?

I did a google search but no luck - only this:

Top 100 Good Riddles | Brain Teasers | Easy Riddles | Hard Riddles | Kids Riddles | ... if the man said there was 40 more sweets in the shop why did 80 ...
www.surfnetkids.com/related.php?t=Kids+Riddles&c=/riddles97.htm - 38k -

However, there is nothing on this site that indicates an answer.

Please help before I go crazy! Confused

Many thanks in advance.

Renoir
