Not exactly.. ^2 = squared, ^3 = cubed, ^4 = to the 4th power, ^5 = to the fifth power, and so on..
so 2^3 = 8, you can say that as "2 cubed equals 8"
2^2 = 4 you say as "2 squared equals 4"
3^5 = you say as "3 to the fifth (power) equals 243"

well, this is still confusing..especially for the numbers : 546 and 656..and do i take the FIRST three numbers or 3 RANDOM numbers?
if you calculated the numbers
like 2x2= 4
3x3= 27
1st hour= 427
4x4x4x4= 2nd hour= 256
5x5x5x5= 3rd hour= 312 (5)
this 5 spills over to the 4th hour,so the next hour, the symols dug out 546 cubic inches right? this 5 goes into the 546. the next 2 digits, ie. 46, comes from well, the pattern listed above.
