Which is the better and faster connectivity, it is advisable to choose Fiber Optic cables over copper cables?

Fiber optics have much higher information handling capability, are smaller and light weight and are immune to interference from electrical sources and corrosion. Signal transmission over fiber is also faster which is why you find fiber even in short links in high end data centers run by big banks and IT companies (think Google). Fiber also requires very little power compared to copper.
