I run Win2000Pro and I have the DirectX 9.0c on it. Is this the best for me or should I use the DirectX 8.1 ? I seem to be having problems when I check the DXDIAG and run tests. It says it has to buffer from software not hardware (whatever that means) and I have problems with some games I have on original CD's. I don't do any designing or anything like that. I just want a good program to allow my kids to play games and such. Can someone give me any ideas please.
Also everytime I go into the DirectX Diagnostic Tool and run on anything it freezes up and won't do anything and that means i have to manually restart computer to get any where. I am about ready to take it all off my computer. Some one please help?
