What I'd suggest is ya get together with your school's guidance and councilin' department - that's what its there for. The schools in which you're interested will provide you their admission standards on request, as well - but there generally are exceptions and "other considerations" which might be a little trickier to ferret out. No time like the present to start lookin' into scholarships and grants, too.

You might be amazed by what is within your grasp if you in fact reach for it, as opposed to waiting to have it delivered to you.

UDelaware is probably a safe school. I attended Widener (at Wilmington, DE) for Law School and UDel was always seen as a fairly low level state school by us. But then again, maybe we were just snobs. :-D UMass and Va Tech probably are safe schools, too, but, like timber suggested, contact your school guidance counselor and ask.

I attended BU. My SATs were 640 verbal, 620 math, my HS average was 90.5/100. I got in with no trouble, but there is a College of General Studies wherein they take promising students who don't make the grade numbers. You're given 2 years to prove yourself. My first roommate went there (at the time, it was called the College of Basic Studies, but it's the same thing) and she did just fine, graduated on time and everything. There's no shame in going to that internal school and the designation does not show up on your diploma. So it might be a way to get into BU.

I don't know about the other schools.

Ummm... Don't your choices really depend on what your planned major is? You didn't mention anywhere what area your planned major is or what type of work you'd like to do post-college.

VA Tech is a poor choice if you are going for a degree in English and Colby is a poor choice for Engineering.

Figure out what you want to do and then find the schools that offer what you want.

I'm a junior too, with a lot in common (I want to major in psych, play JV sports, etc) and all I've learned from the guidance at my school is the grades aren't that important, which is good because we don't have weighted grades. Really, whether you are able to make these colleges is up to your SAT score, most likely. Im goin to a Midwest school, probably WashU in St Louis or SMSU, so it's all up to my ACT scores. Just stay involved with those activities, your resume would look really good if you were president of Key Club or in Student COuncil or something like that.
