Simplicity Ain't so Simple
Many desire a return to a simple life
Without stress and without strife.
Whose fault is it that we fail to see
That life's complexities are our own responsibility?
A simple life would be food, shelter and clothing,
With all else held with some loathing.
But is that simplicity, with little interference
Coming into our lives by refusing adherence?
It most certainly is, that of gauging needs.
Then faith comes into focus - who then gives heed?
Faith does not demand of itself but does require,
Commitment of your life, for furtherance of desire.
For the less you gather, the more you gain,
And much more for so little pain.
Of course you have nothing with which to compare total lack,
But the wisdom of faith is within its laws of fact
The more one lives with less, the more one receives
And only given to those whose forethought is to believe.
I would not steer you wrong, for I have nothing to gain,
By your temporary misery, of lack with minimal pain
But your future waits to erase from your past
All errors of your life, and gain true freedom, at last.
Think then, before simplicity you desire
For opportunities will come to prove you true or a liar.
It is in this faith that every one's hands hold
Their future of life and love if one were so bold.
But also it is true that failures may arise,
They to are yours, as much as your heart cries.
If you can read between these lines of simplicity, faith and trust,
You will find freedom of the soul - A law of God that is just.
Simplicity then, ain't so simple - Is it?
