To Pass the Cup of Sorrow
How is it I feel your every pain in your body and soul -
Even your secret ones that eventually takes their toll?
I've been down many roads, not all that is for certain,
But with time and understanding, I see behind your road's curtain.
To carry a burden alone is no easy task
Let me help you, is all I ask.
I don't know all the answers, and even if I did
Would that solve all problems, even the ones hid?
You are not an island unto your own
Sharing is caring - my shoulders to loan
All that you need and to never run dry
Given freely - for my heart heard your cry.
I am not "HE" - I just simply care
That I "am" or "am not" is neither here nor there.
I am a man, much like any other,
But knowing you are my sister and brother
Makes me gird up my strength from above
For God it is, that has given this love.
I have heard your cries - with no pretension to gain
The simplicity of love for your burden of pain.
How I wish to enfold the world in my arms! -
And to utterly cease terror's alarms.
I can do little or lots, it is yours to borrow,
So pass on to me, your cup of sorrow.
