The Two Ships of Blood
There are two vessels of blood in my life coursing through me.
This is not odd, no, not in the least, as you will soon see.
All are the same, no different than yours, all made from earth's dust.
Violence, not love, betrays God's created love of trust.
Meant to give live, it was not to be innocently spilled,
The blood in my life was given because God so willed.
Keeping me alive and healthy, I thank God every day.
So much for this red liquid dust and you know what I say.
The other flowing you cannot see but this I do know,
Colorless and unseen, it is more full than a rainbow.
Pulsing from beyond the stars, flowing into and through me,
Wrapping the whole of what I am for all of eternity.
As though a ship at sea, with my feet firmly on the ground,
The sea this earthly ship sails in & through, I'm glad I found.
What better life could this mortal dust of earth ask to be,
Than to have the best of two bloods beating in perfect harmony.
