To Loose a Battle - But win a WAR
The conflict of the ages, brought to bear on every single soul.
Fighting shadows, the cost is a heavy toll.
Lacking courage to fight the enemy within,
War surfaces to others, with no hope to win.
Dauntless courage, as rare as the "narrow road,"
Surfaces every millennium, regardless of the "load."
A single battle, not enlisting other lives,
Against the enemy within, full trust in God survives.
Wounded and scarred, the soldier never does reflect,
Upon a lost battle, added to it, without regret.
The Supreme Commander of that soldier's life,
Routs a hidden battalion, to quell all strife.
Peace is the commendation,
A comfortable elation.
The spoil of that soldier's battle and war?
An eternally open door.
