I always get the impression that there was something going on between Mary Poppins and Bert in the film.Or they had been out together in the past.
Does anybody else get that vibe or not?

I think it's quite obvious that Bert and Mary had a 'thang' going on!

Chim, chimmery, chim, chimmery, chim, chim charoo!

Chimney Sweeps Rock! (brushes.....extending poles)

The new stage version got a 20 minute standing ovation last night! Very Happy

Your right it just seems like a hint of anything other than friendship should be there as she is meant to be a wholesome nanny.

Got a thing for chimney sweeps eh!They are making a come back over here.

Yep, I saw 1 scene of the new Mary poppins on a charity night on TV.The lady that plays her is magnificent.Perfect blend of serious/saucy/modernity.

Yep,GB, UK,Good old Blighty.

Nope not read the book but Id heard that it was darker too and they have added some extra bits to songs.
Seems the kids are actually badly behaved in the play. They are quite sweet in the film arnt they?

Found out the other day that theactor that played the boy in the film died after he went travelling as a teenager!

The stage version is suppose to be darker than the movie version. It's headed towards Broadway after its London gig.

I know! Let's go fly a kite, up to the highest height, let's go fly a kite and send it soaring, up to the atmosphere, up where the air is clear. Oh, let's go fly a kite.

The child who played "Michael Banks" (Matthew garber) died in 1977 of Pancreatitis.
(After "Mary Poppins", "The GnomeMobile" and "Thomasina", his poor pancreas must have been devastated... too much sugar!)

Dick van Dyck's (sp?) attempt at an English accent was excruciatingly, embarrasingly AWFUL! that's about all I remember apart from pure saccharine
