The "Real" Stumbling Block

Little did they realize the stumbling block was Him
More so to do as He said to do and not as praise of Him.

His words were not of a prophet or dreamer
But a path to life, as was certain - and not a schemer.

You can cast out every devil and hungry feed ?'til time's end,
And you can clothe everyone naked, but the law will not bend.

You can even preach His name unto the earth's final end,
But even so, my friend, the law just will not bend.

Praise His name in the streets and on the bumpers of many cars,
But without DOING the law, my friend, Heaven will be seen through bars.

All done in His name will be to no avail,
There is a name for folks like that - called the "Devil's Tail."

Never to enter heaven, nor another chance
To prove the self to God - and cut from the branch.

His words and His life, were given for example,
Yet few there be in present time, are but just a sample.

Where does that leave the mass of life, without the doing of His word? Between Heaven and Hell, dear friend - Have you not yet heard?

So cast Him out, or go your own way,
Your lack of proof is but iniquity, as you have heard Him say.
