Comedian and actor Jerry Lewis, deceased at 91

Jerry Lewis of fame mostly through his comedy films, some with the late Dean Martin, has died. It happened this morning in his Las Vegas, Nevada home, he was 91.

For several years, beginning in 1966, he also was the emcee of the annual Labor Day televised telethon for muscular dystrophy (an annual event which he is credited for having founded). (Originally, it was a local Thanksgiving day telethon done locally in NYC)

Although Mr.Lewis was known primarily for comedy, he also appeared in serious dramas in non-comedic roles.
