Hi.
Does anyone happen to know what the world's longest marathon is? (Or "ultramarathon" as I believe they're called.)
I'm fairly certain I heard of a annual event that's over 1000 miles long and takes a week to run. But I'm not sure what it's called and where it begins and ends.
Anyone?
9th Annual Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race
Sunday June 12th or 19th June to August 2 or 9th (51 days)
Jamaica, New York
Entry by invitation only
Quote:The runners run around the block surrounding a baseball field and
other local facilities. Each lap measures about 1/2 mile. The race
lasts around 51 days, so the runners try to cover about 60 miles a
day.
They run and walk from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight every day
.
