(Knowing a couple the way I do and feeling their frustration of not blossoming their love for each other, saddened me. I stepped back mentally, emotionally & spiritually, put myself in their shoes, walked THEIR mile and wrote this for them....They have never read it.)

We both know you have your faults and we know I have them too,
Dragging old baggage from ancient loves never did hold true.
We found each other after losing more than we wanted,
Now we have to ask ourselves, honesty not being daunted,
Do we throw our love away because our baggage blinds us so,
Or do we decide to ditch those bags so our love can grow?
We must make a choice, there is no more time to spare,
Our baby needs our healthiness - would any less be fair?
If faith in our love cannot break these bonds that are so tightening,
We stand to loose more than we dare hope - that itself is frightening!
Did you know the baggage in our minds are nothing more than flimsy ghosts?
So what further excuse can we give for serving these worthless hosts?
I've run out of them, my love, and this has become our style -
That within we have contended to live with a garbage pile.
Lifelong happiness for us is just a choice away,
Damn it all, we have the courage to keep these ghosts at bay,
Let's pool our love together now, and let us chase them this time.
No more darkness, only light - This is our love-light's prime.
Let's dump all our baggage, RIGHT NOW, my love - I can't stand this any longer,
Then and only then will our true love become so much stronger
