When I was a child and on a warm summer night
Lying back on grass, my heart would gaze a wondrous sight.
The stars would envelope me like a special covering.
Pulsing stars would with their love-light around me, hovering.
Growing up I never forgot the love I felt from them,
Daily duties, living & learning never did stem.
Their love that became a part of my heart's hopeful desire,
Would one fine day I had hoped, a true love inspire,
That of finding a love just like the stars true
Then one unsuspecting blind day I met you.
It was not love a first sight; I must have looked quite scared.
Respecting your grace, your tender words told me you cared.
Taking a chance, as guys are inward meant to do,
I closed in on your lips and - surprise! I learned something new!
Shocking memories came rushing back into my unsure mind,
The stars, distant though they may be high above, looking fine,
Could never have prepared me for your kiss, not even mars!
Flashbacks to the future, I found them in you -
The Kiss of the Stars.
