Damn, dj. That was a funny come back. Miss Letty even tolerated the misspelling of "compliment", and really laughed.
Hey, listeners. did you know that science cannot explain the nature of laughing?

I believe laughter is too complex to have a single source or meaning.

not many pop songs about bank robbers, especially written by women
but here's one
There Goes A Tenner
Kate Bush
Okay, remember.
Okay, remember
That we have just allowed
Half an hour
To get in, do it, and get out.
The sense of adventure
Is changing to danger.
The signal has been given.
I go in.
The crime begins.
My excitement
Turns into fright.
All my words fade.
What am I gonna say?
Mustn't give the game away.
We're waiting.
We're waiting.
We're waiting.
We got the job sussed.
This shop's shut for business.
The lookout has parked the car,
But kept the engine running.
Three beeps means trouble's coming.
I hope you remember
To treat the gelignite tenderly for me.
I'm having dreams about things
Not going right.
Let's leave in plenty of time tonight.
Both my partners
Act like actors:
You are Bogart,
He is George Raft,
That leaves Cagney and me.
("What about Edward G.?")
We're waiting.
We're waiting.
We're waiting.
You blow the safe up.
Then all I know is I wake up,
Covered in rubble. One of the rabble
Needs mummy.
("What's all this then?")
The government will never find the money.
("What's all this then?")
I've been here all day,
A star in strange ways.*
Apart from a photograph
They'll get nothing from me,
Not until they let me see my solicitor.
Ooh, I remember
That rich, windy weather
When you would carry me,
Pockets floating
In the breeze.
Ooh, there goes a tenner.
Hey, look! There's a fiver.
There's a ten-shilling note.
Remember them?
That's when we used to vote for him.

I agree, edgar. There are a few mystical things about our nature that can't be scientifically nor psychologically demonstrated. Aren't ya glad, folks?
Now I want you to hear it first on our radio. Our edgar has published a book, and I am looking at it as we speak. I feel so fortunate to read his signature and to see his wonderful dedication to his wife and family.
Salute, Texas, and when I clarify the situation with the moderators, I intend to create a thread for our own Mr. Blythe. <smile>
Let's hear it for edgarblythe.
My heart knows a lovely song
It whistles it all day long
If you know the melody
Please whistle it back to me
The way the bird in the beechwood tree
Calls to it's mate so I'll call to thee
Oh when will you answer me?
My lips are parched and my throat is numb
Does some inability make you dumb?
If you can cannot whistle, hum
edgar is my nom de plume
I whistle and hum, but I hum to whom
To whom do I hum, to whom?
To whom? To us, Texas

Paperback Writer
The Beatles
Paper back writer (writer, writer)
Dear Sir or Madam, did you read my book?
It took me years to write, will you take a look?
It's based on a novel by a man named Lear
And I need a job, so I want to be a paperback writer,
Paperback writer.
It's the dirty story of a dirty man
And his clinging wife doesn't understand.
His son is working for the Daily Mail,
It's a steady job but he wants to be a paperback writer,
Paperback writer.
Paperback writer (writer, writer)
It's a thousand pages, give or take a few,
(Frere)
I'll be writing more in a week or two.
(Jacques)
I can make it longer if you like the style,
(Frere)
I can change it round and I want to be a paperback writer,
(Jacques)
Paperback writer.
If you really like it you can have the rights,
(Frere)
It could make a million for you overnight.

i'm sure your book is nothing like the song suggests
but if it is, good on you

Gene Autry
Way Out West In Texas
Way out west in Texas, it's where I long to be
Ridin' on the prairie with a good horse under me
For three long years I've bumed around, my heart is sad and blue
I'm goin' back to the wooly West where your friends are always true
[Yodel]
Well, way out west in Texas where the atmosphere is light
You roll up in your blanket on the prairie every night
Where the rattlesnakes and the old horned toads, they sleep right by your side
On the desert sands of Texas, it's where I long to ride.
[Yodel]
[Instrumental of Verse]
Well, way out west in Texas around that old camp fire
We sing the songs of long ago and strum on my guitar
My heart is ever yearning, but I will be there soon
I'll settle down in Texas when the cactus is in bloom
Well, a way out west in Texas, round up in the spring
You'll hear me sing this little song while ridin' on the range
Broadway lights moon light suits me fine
I'll settle down in Texas, I'll leave my blues behind
[Yodel]

one more tune about a tome
My Book
The Beautiful South
This is my life and this is how it reads
For every chapter, a thousand memories
A murder, a mystery where everybody bleeds
A fantasy, a thriller with romance and disease
Diary entry 9th of May '62
We've had some ugly babies but none were quite like you
Diary entry '62 end of May
It looks as if the nose and chin are definitely here to stay
They're here to stay, they're here to stay
If my lips start smiling and my knees start a-knocking
I'm a failure
You are, you are
And if I seem half-hearted, it's because I'm broken hearted
And I'm a failure
You are, you are, you are (I am)
You are, you are, you are (I am)
This is my life and this is how it reads
A documentary that nobody believes
Albert Steptoe in 'Gone with the Breeze'
Mother played by Peter Beardsley, father by John Cleese
Diary entry '68 end of the year
A cardboard Apollo 6 has given the all clear
11th December '68 Captain's log
Proposed trip to Mars is cancelled due to fog
It's due to fog, it's due to fog
If my lips start smiling and my knees start a-knocking
I'm a failure
You are, you are
And if I seem half-hearted, it's because I'm broken hearted
And I'm a failure
You are, you are, you are (I am)
You are, you are, you are (I am)
This is the play, it was I who wrote the script
Terry meets June in 'Tales from the Crypt'
It was going to be a film but the camera person slipped
They later found him scolding a banana
Diary entry 10th of April '89
The world is going mad but me I'm doing fine
I'm doing fine
Back to bed, back to reality
Just fine.

Oops, folks, I missed dj's bank robber song written by a woman.
and one more song about a robber, and we ain't talkin' Gene, edgar. <smile>
[Talking]
Uhh uhh uhh.
You ready B? Let's go get 'em..
[Verse 1: Jay-Z]
Look for me! Young, B
Cruisin down the westside - highway
Doing what we like to do - our, way
Eyes behind shades, this necklace the reason
all of my dates been blind dates
But today, I got my thoroughest girl wit me
I'm mashin the gas, she's grabbin the wheel, it's true to the heart
She rides with me - the new Bobby and Whitney
Only time we don't speak is during "Sex and the City"
She gets Carrie fever, but soon as the show is over
She's right back to being my soldier
Cuz mami's a rider, and I'm a roller
Put us together, how they gon' stop both us?
What ever she lacks, I'm right over her shoulder
When I'm off track mami is keepin me focused
So let's, lock this down like it's supposed to be
The '03 Bonnie and Clyde, Hov' and B
[Chorus:]
[Jay] All I need in this life of sin, is me and my girlfriend.
[Bey] Down to ride 'til the very end, it's me and my boyfriend.
[Jay] All I need in this life of sin, is me and my girlfriend.
[Bey] Down to ride 'til the very end, it's me and my boyfriend.
[Verse 2: Jay-Z]
The problem is, you dudes treat the one that you lovin
with the same respect that you treat the one that you humpin
Now they 'bout nothin - if ever you mad about somethin
It won't be that; oh no it won't be that
I don't be at, places where we comfy at
With no be-atch; oh no you won't see that
And no, I ain't perfect - nobody walkin this earth's surface is
But girlfriend, work with the kid
I keep you workin that Hermes Burkin bag,
Manolo Blahnik, Timbs, aviator lens
600 drops, Mercedes Benz
The only time you wear Burberry to swim
And I don't have to worry, only worry is him
She do anything necessary for him
And I do anything necessary for her
so don't let the necessary occur, yep!
[Chorus]
[Beyonce]
(Talk to 'em B)
If I was your girlfried,
I'll be there for you, if somebody hurts you,
Even if that somebody is me
Yeah-hee (break it down for 'em)
Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be
And so I put this on my life
Nobody or nothing will ever come between us
And I promise I'll give my life
and all of my trust if you was my boyfriend
Put this on my life
The air that I breathe in, all that I believe in
I promise I'll give my life
my love and my trust if you was my boyfriend
[Chorus]

Ballad of Thunder Road
(Robert Mitchum & Don Raye (Capitol Records))
Let me tell the story, I can tell it all;
About the mountain boy who ran illegal alcohol.
His daddy made the whiskey, the son he drove the load;
And when his engine roared they called the highway "Thunder Road".
Sometimes into Ashville, sometimes Memphis town.
The Revenuers chased him but they couldn't run him down.
Each time they thought they had him his engine would explode.
He'd go by like they were standing still on "Thunder Road".
CHO:
And there was thunder, thunder over "Thunder Road",
Thunder was his engine and white lightening was his load.
And there was moonshine, moonshine to quench the devil's thirst.
The law they ( swore they'd get him but) the devil got him first.
last chorus: (never got him 'cause)
It was on the first of April, Nineteen-Fifty-Four
The Federal man sent word he'd better make his run no more.
He said "200 agents were covering the state;
Which ever road he tried to take they'd get him sure as fate.
'Son' his daddy told him, 'make this run your last.
The tank is filled with 100 proof; you're all tuned-up and gassed.
Now don't take any chances, if you can't get through.
I'd rather have you back again than all that Mountain Dew.'
Roaring out of Harlan; revving up his mill.
He shot the Gap at Cumberland and streamed by Maynardville.
With G men on his tail light; road block up ahead,
The mountain boy took roads that even angels feared to tread.
Blazing right through Knoxville, out on Kingston Pike,
Then right outside of Bearden, they made the fatal strike.
He left the road at 90; that's all there is to say.
The devil got the moonshine and the mountain boy that day.

another song from ms bush
dedicated to lord e, rule brittania, pip pip, cheerio and all that stuff
Oh England My Lionheart
Kate Bush
Oh! England, my Lionheart,
I'm in your garden, fading fast in your arms.
The soldiers soften, the war is over.
The air raid shelters are blooming clover.
Flapping umbrellas fill the lanes--
My London Bridge in rain again.
Oh! England, my Lionheart!
Peter Pan steals the kids in Kensington Park.
You read me Shakespeare on the rolling Thames--
That old river poet that never, ever ends.
Our thumping hearts hold the ravens in,
And keep the tower from tumbling.
Oh! England, my Lionheart,
Oh! England, my Lionheart,
Oh! England, my Lionheart,
I don't want to go.
Oh! England, my Lionheart!
Dropped from my black Spitfire to my funeral barge.
Give me one kiss in apple-blossom.
Give me one wish, and I'd be wassailing
In the orchard, my English rose,
Or with my shepherd, who'll bring me home.
Oh! England, my Lionheart,
Oh! England, my Lionheart,
Oh! England, my Lionheart,
I don't want to go.
Oh! England, my Lionheart,
Oh! England, my Lionheart,
Oh! England, my Lionheart,
I don't want to go.

good tune edgar, brings to mind a jim croce song
Rapid Roy (The Stock Car Boy)
Jim Croce
Oh Rapid Roy that stock car boy
He too much too believe
You know he always got an extra pack of cigarettes
Rolled up in his T-shirt sleeve
He got a tattoo on his arm that say "Baby"
He got another one that just say "Hey"
But every Sunday afternoon he is a dirt track demon
In a '57 Chevrolet
Oh Rapid Roy that stock car boy
He's the best driver in the land
He say that he learned to race a stock car
By runnin' shine outta Alabam'
Oh the Demolition Derby
And the Figure Eight
Is easy money in the bank
Compared to runnin' from the man
In Oklahoma City
With a 500 gallon tank
Oh Rapid Roy that stock car boy
He too much too believe
You know he always got an extra pack of cigarettes
Rolled up in his T-shirt sleeve
He got a tattoo on his arm that say "Baby"
He got another one that just say "Hey"
And Sunday afternoon he is a dirt track demon
In a '57 Chevrolet
Yeah Roy so cool
That racin' fool he don't know what fear's about
He do a hundred thirty mile an hour
Smilin' at the camera
With a toothpick in his mouth
He got a girl back home
Name of Dixie Dawn
But he got honeys all along the way
And you oughta hear 'em screamin'
For that dirt track demon
In a '57 Chevrolet
Oh Rapid Roy that stock car boy
He too much too believe
You know he always got an extra pack of cigarettes
Rolled up in his T-shirt sleeve
He got a tattoo on his arm that say "Baby"
He got another one that just say "Hey"
But every Sunday afternoon he is a dirt track demon
In a '57 Chevrolet

ah, dj. I loved both those song, and I am certain that Kate Moss will be appreciated by all our British friends, even one German.
See edgar? You got a lot of people rootin' for ya, Texas.
Great to see Imur(it can be a great night for the Irish, too)
ENDYMION, who is a great poet, himself, incidentally.
And our delightful Raggedy who knows a good one when she sees it.
Well, listeners. I guess I had better say goodnight.
So, all of you dreamers:
Send me the pillow that you dream on.
Don't you know that I still care for you?
Send me the pillow that you dream on,
So darling, I can dream on it, too.
Each night while I'm sleeping oh, so lonely,
I'll share your love in dreams that once were true.
Send me the pillow that you dream on,
So darling, I can dream on it, too.
I've waited so long for you to write me,
But just a memory's all that's left of you.
Send me the pillow that you dream on,
So darling, I can dream on it, too.
So darling, I can dream on it, too.
From Letty with love.

lyrics by bachman turner overdrive
(certainly one of ehbeth's favourites some years back)
LITTLE GANDY DANCER
Money
She always gets a chance
Music
She sure knows how to dance
She's a high-flying woman so reach for the sky
She's gonna knock you down then pass on by
She's a high-stepping prancer
A tried true romancer
She's a little gandy dancer
And she's too much for me (Ow!)
Little gandy dancer
Broken
She left me with a broken heart
Spinnin'
I don't know how to start
She's a low-flying woman she dragged me around
She'll get you high on love then knock you down
She's a high-stepping prancer
A tried true romancer
She's a little gandy dancer
And she's too much for me (Ow! Ow!)
Little gandy dancer
Dance, dance, dance little gandy dancer
Dance, dance, dance little gandy dancer ...
Dance, dance, dance
Dance, dance, dance ...
Dance on, beauty

I thank Letty and the well wishers. I'm certainly proud of what I've done. I'm also proud of my brother, who did the jacket and internal artwork.
