Well, there's our dys. Hey, cowboy. Do you recall the song that she sang behind that Eastwood movie? It was awesome.

Incidentally, folks. Eastwood still looks great to me:

Well, there's our Francis, listeners. Hey, Paris. How about letting us see the lyrics to that song that you're listening to. I can't believe that I have never heard that lady sing before.

Toni Braxton - Unbreak my heart

Don't leave me in all this pain
Don't leave me out in the rain
Come back and bring back my smile
Come and take these tears away
I need your arms to hold me now
The nights are so unkind
Bring back those nights when I held you beside me

1-Un-break my heart
Say you'll love me again
Un-do this hurt you caused
When you walked out the door
And walked outta my life
Un-cry these tears
I cried so many nights
Un-break my heart, my heart

Take back that sad word good-bye
Bring back the joy to my life
Don't leave me here with these tears
Come and kiss this pain away
I can't forget the day you left
Time is so unkind
And life is so cruel without you here beside me

Ohh, oh
Don't leave me in all this pain
Don't leave me out in the rain
Bring back the nights when I held you beside me

Un-break my
Un-break my heart, oh baby
Come back and say you love me
Un-break my heart
Sweet darlin'
Without you I just can't go on
Can't go on

dys replies OOPS wrong Toni
Joy of Cooking-Rock group formed in 1967 in Berkeley CA by vocalists Toni Brown (b 16 Nov. '38, Madison WI; also piano) and Terry Garthwaite (b 11 July '38, Berkeley; also guitar). They were backed by Fritz Kasten (b 19 Oct., Des Moines IA) on drums and sax, Ron Wilson (b 5 Feb. '33, San Diego) on percussion and harmonica, brother David Garthwaite on bass. Their first LP Joy Of Cooking emphasised percussive backing; the second Closer To The Ground '71 replaced David with Jeff Neighbor (b 19 March '42, Grand Coulee WA) on bass and trombone, and also saw songwriter Brown introducing a country element. After the disappointing Castles '72, the girls went to Nashville to record a duo Cross Country '73. Though 'Mockingbird' from the first LP was a minor hit, little commercial success accrued; Brown went solo (LPs Good For You Too '74, Angel Of Love '80); Garthwaite kept Joy Of Cooking alive with guitarist Glen Frendel and Steve Roseman on piano; but an LP by this lineup not released due to contractual problems. Terry '75 was a solo debut, followed by a reunion with Brown for critically acclaimed The Joy '77; Terry went solo again with Hand In Glove '78 and others, and also had a partnership with Rosemary Sorrels. They are often cited as an early example of women as bandleaders in rock, rare then; but their folk-tinged West Coast music and thoughtful lyrics were worthy of greater note than that.

Ah, that's all right, cowboy. I just got an inspiration to play a song from Reggae Falls: <smile>

Artist: Anika Moa Lyrics
Song: Falling in Love Again Lyrics

Don't you think you've had your fun
Lay across the morning sun
been saving my money
been working for you
been steeped in temptation
been waiting for you

(Chorus)
There's a boy in every town
no wonder I get around
I'm seeing me for the first time
I've played and fooled for the year
but feels like I'm not there
now I know that I'm falling for you again

yeah I'm falling in love again

Everyone has missed the bus
their gunning down the two of us
been crossing the border
corrupting my mind
keep my emotions
forgiving my pride

(Chorus)

It's still quiet in here
I can't see through my tears
I burned a candle of flares
so I can see you again

see you again (x3)

(Chorus)

I'm falling
I am falling in love again
yeah I'm falling
I'm am falling in love again

Francis, try as I might, I couldn't get real media player to tune me in to Unbreak My Heart.

and this one from Nina, listeners:

Sammy Lerner, Frederick Hollander

Falling in love again I never wanted to
What am I to do I can't help it
Love has always been my game play it how I may
I was made that way I can't help it

Men cluster to me like moths around a flame
And if their wings burn I know I'm not to blame
Falling in love again I never wanted to
What am I to do I can't help it

Men cluster to me like moths around a flame
And if their wings burn I know I'm not to blame
Falling in love again I never wanted to
What am I to do I can't help it.

Can't help playing what's in my heart, listeners. <smile>

Grab your coat and get your hat
Leave your worries on the doorstep
Life can be so sweet
On the sunny side of the street

Can't you hear the pitter-pat
And that happy tune is your step
Life can be complete
On the sunny side of the street

I used to walk in the shade with my blues on parade
But I'm not afraid...this rover? s crossed over

If I never had a cent
I'd be rich as rockefeller
Gold dust at my feet
On the sunny side of the street

I used to walk in the shade with them blues on parade
Now I'm not afraid... this rover has crossed over

Now if I never made one cent
I'll still be rich as rockefeller
There will be goldust at my feet
On the sunny
On the sunny, sunny side of the street

Dorothy Fields wrote well over 400 songs.
Her best-known standards include :

I Can't Give You Anything But Love • Don't Blame Me
On The Sunny Side Of The Street • A Fine Romance
I'm In The Mood For Love • The Way You Look Tonight
Big Spender • If My Friends Could See Me Now

Here's a great one from Gene Vincent. Others have tried to imitate but nothing beats the original.

Be-Bop-A-Lula
(Davis/Vincent)

Well be-bop-a-lula she's my baby
Be-bop-a-lula I don't mean maybe
Be-bop-a-lula she's my baby
Be-bop-a-lula I don't mean maybe
Be-bop-a-lula she's my baby love
My baby love, my baby love

Well she's the girl in the red blue jeans
She's the queen of all the teens
She's the one that I know
She's the one that loves me so

Say be-bop-a-lula she's my baby
Be-bop-a-lula I don't mean maybe
Be-bop-a-lula she's my baby love
My baby love, my baby love

Well, she's the one that's got that beat
She's the one with the flyin' feet
She's the one that walks around the store
She's the one, need just more more more more

Be-bop-a-lula she's my baby
Be-bop-a-lula I don't mean maybe
Be-bop-a-lula she's my baby love
My baby love, my baby love

Well be-bop-a-lula she's my baby
Be-bop-a-lula I don't mean maybe
Be-bop-a-lula she's my baby
Be-bop-a-lula I don't mean maybe
Be-bop-a-lula she's my baby love
My baby love, my baby love

Mungo Jerry was a cat in that Book of Cats.
I found this out later.

"In The Summertime" was a 1970s hit for a group called Mungo Jerry.

Nothing new under the sun.

Oh, it's Joan Baez's birthday. Happy Birthday Ms. Baez. As Edgar feels about Dylan, Raggedyaggie feels about Baez.

And a good day to all at WA2K.

http://www.joan-baez.com/joan.jpg

Written for her son:

GABRIEL AND ME
(Words and Music by Joan Baez)

The grey quiet horse wears the reins of dawn,
and nobody knows what mountain he's from.
In his mouth he carries the golden key,
and nobody sees him but Gabriel and me.
Gabriel and me.

His nose is silver and his mane is white,
his eyes are black and starry like night.
So softly he splashes his hoofs in the sea,
that nobody hears him but Gabriel and me.
Gabriel and me.

He comes in the morning when the air is still,
he races the sun and he always will.
We raise up the window and call through the trees,
oh we'd love to fly with you, Gabriel and me.
Gabriel and me.

For your back is wingless and there's room for two,
we'll mount from a tree and ride straight on through.
But I guess you're wiser than I thought you'd be,
for you never will listen to Gabriel and me.
Gabriel and me.

For you know that one day we'll forget to wake,
call it destiny, call it fate.
You'll nuzzle us softly and so silently,
we'll ride in the morning, Gabriel and me,
with the golden key.
Gabriel and me,
forever to the sea.

There's our Nick, folks, he snuck in when I was day dreaming. <smile>

Thanks, honey, for the reminder of Be-Bop-A-lula. I don't believe that I heard the original, but just as everything good, it gets copied rather badly.

And Raggedy. I guessed wrong, PA. Thank you for reminding me that I am fallible. Hee! Hee!

Hey, Taggers. Where did you come from, Brit. Ain't nothing new under the moon, either. I hope that summertime song isn't the one that begins:

"....in the summertime when all the leaves and trees are green..." Rolling Eyes

Terrible rhythm, Manchester. What the jazz boys call fly-beating.

Old rockin' chair's got me
Cane by my side
Fetch me that gin, son
'Fore I tan your hide
Can't get from this cabin
Ain't goin' nowhere
Just sitting here [grabbing?]
At them flies round this old rockin' chair

My dear old aunt Harriet
Up in heaven she be
Send down sweet chariot
For the end of these troubles I see

Old rockin' chair
Judgement day is near
I'm chained to that old rockin' chair.
...................................................

Soon I'll be singing this 'Hoagy' song, lol.
