Isn't it great, listeners? We also encourage decision making discussion on our little radio.

As Kicky gives it his best shot, folks, let's hear a shot of another kind:

Concord Hymn
Sung at the Completion of the Concord Monument,
4 July 1837
By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April's breeze unfurled,
Here once the embattled farmers stood,
And fired the shot heard round the world.

The foe long since in silence slept;
Alike the conqueror silent sleeps;
And Time the ruined bridge has swept
Down the dark stream which seaward creeps.

On this green bank, by this soft stream,
We set to-day a votive stone;
That memory may their deed redeem,
When, like our sires, our sons are gone.

Spirit, that made those heroes dare
To die, or leave their children free,
Bid Time and Nature gently spare
The shaft we raise to them and thee.

Emerson.

And this song is for our dys listeners:

Both Sides Now

Rows and flows of angel's hair
And icecream castles in the air
And feathered canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way

But now they only block the sun
They rain and they snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way.

I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, but still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all.

Moon and Junes and Ferris wheels
That dizzy dancing way you feel
As every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way.

But now it's just another show
You leave them laughing when you go
And if you care, don't let them know
Don't give yourself away.

I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take, but still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall
I really don't know love at all.

Tears and fears and feeling proud
To say "I love you" right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds
I've looked at life that way

But now old friends are acting strange
They shake their heads, they say I've changed
Well something's lost, but something's gained
In living every day.

I've looked at life from both sides now
From win and lose, but still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all.

McTag, Walter, and Paris are among the missing.

McTag is away for a couple of days.

I'm leaning on a lamppost
At the corner of the street
In case a certain little lady comes by.
Oh me! Oh my!
I hope the little lady comes by.
I don't know if she'll get away,
She doesn't always get away,
But anyhow I know that she'll try.
Oh me, oh my!
I hope the little lady comes by.
There's no other girl I would wait for,
But this one I'd break any date for.
I don't want to ask what she's late for.
She wouldn't leave me flat;
She's not a girl like that.
She's absolutely beautiful
And marvellous and wonderful,
And anyone can understand why
I'm leaning on a lamppost
At the corner of the street
In case a certain little lady passes by.

Well, to be honest, I just drove 210 miles to my little back home (was visting a friend).

A Puzzlement from The King and I

King
When I was a boy
World was better spot.
What was so was so,
What was not was not.
Now I am a man;
World have changed a lot.
Some things nearly so,
Others nearly not.
There are times I almost think
I am not sure of what I absolutely know.
Very often find confusion
In conclusion I concluded long ago
In my head are many facts
That, as a student, I have studied to procure,
In my head are many facts..
Of which I wish I was more certain I was sure!
[Spoken]
Is a puzzlement...

[Sung]
What to tell growing son
What for instance, shall I say to him of women?
Shall I educate him on the ancient lines?
Shall I tell the boy as far as he is able,
To respect his wives and love his concubines?
Shall I tell him everyone is like the other,
And the better of the two is really neither?
If I tell him this I think he won't believe it-
And I nearly think that I don't believe it either!-
When my father was a king
He was a king who knew exactly what he knew,
And his brain was not a thing
Forever swinging to and fro and fro and to.
Shall I, then be like my father
And be willfully unmovable and strong?
Or is it better to be right?...
Or am I right when I believe I may be wrong?

Shall I join with other nations in alliance?
If allies are weak, am I not best alone?
If allies are strong with power to protect me,
Might they not protect me out of all I own?
Is a danger to be trusting one another,
One will seldom want to do what other wishes;
But unless someday somebody trust somebody
There'll be nothing left on earth excepting fishes!

There are times I almost think
Nobody sure of what he absolutely know.
Everybody find confusion
In conclusion he concluded long ago
And it puzzle me to learn
That tho' a man may be in doubt of what he know,
Very quickly he will fight...
He'll fight to prove that what he does not know is so!

Oh-h-h-h-h-h Sometimes I think that people going mad!
Ah-h-h-h-h-h! Sometimes I think that people not so bad!
But not matter what I think
I must go on living life.
As leader of my kingdom I must go forth,
Be father to my children and husband to each wife
Etcetera, etcetera, and so forth.
If my Lord in Heaven Buddha, show the way,
Everyday I try to live another day.
If my Lord in Heaven Buddha, show the way,
Everyday I do my best for one-more day!

[Spoken]
But...Is a puzzlement!

Well, my goodness, listeners. Here's Germany back with an explanation.

Just watching one lady, are you Walter?

I would think our Walter would be standing on the corner watching all the girls go by, right folks?

Well, Bob. When I was a girl and our Bob was a hawk,
O'er fields and meadows we'd roam. Love the songs from the King and I, Boston.

Name those tunes, listeners. The one that I paraphrased for Walter and Bob.

one more for kicky

here's ian hunter to comment on your decision

Central Park n' West

The Gulf and Western Garbage
Just ain't the prettiest smell
When you're sleeping on the 4th floor up
It's like a living hell
New York's finest rounding up the bums
The firemen get no rest,
and ambulances signal death, on Central Park 'n' West.

Now there ain't no sheets upon my bed,
just a mattress and some wine.
The rain is pouring through the night
and I'm glad my life is mine.
When Frank Carillo plays guitar
trying to get it off his chest.
He gets the words he needs tonight
on Central Park 'n' West.

And I think, I think, I think, I think, I think it's the best,
when I'm locked in the middle of New York city on Central Park 'n' West
and I know, I know, I know, I know, I know it's a mess,
but you've got to be crazy to live in the city, and New York city's the best.

And we all want just someone just like me
in the city we call home.
She leaves me sometimes when I write,
'cause I write better on my own.
Bag ladies take my dollars
put my conscience to the test.
But waitresses give me coffee free
on Central Park 'n' West.

So sing soul woman, sing the songs
it's time to sing them now.
I'm getting more than high from hearin' 'em
don't sing them quiet, sing them loud.
For you sang with the best of them
but now you're just a guest.
I tell you we'll get a hotel room
on Central Park 'n' West.

'Cause I think, I think, I think, I think, I think it's the best,
when I'm locked in the middle of New York city on Central Park 'n' West
and I know, I know, I know, I know, I know it's a mess,
but you've got to be crazy to live in the city, and New York city's the best.

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, oh yeah.

I think, I think, I think, I think, I think it's the best,
when I'm locked in the middle of New York city on Central Park 'n' West.

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know it's a mess,
but you've got to be crazy to live in the city, and New York city's the best.

Well, my my, listeners. Our dj is songless and speechless. <smile>

Anyway, here's a song for all you guys:

Percy Sledge

In the hustle of the day
We're all inclined to miss
The little things that mean a lot
A word, a smile, the kiss
When a woman loves a man
He's a hero in her eyes
And a hero he will always be
If he'll just realize

She may be weary
Women do get weary
Wearing the same shabby dress
And when she's weary
Try a little tenderness

You know she's waiting
Just anticipating
Things she may never possess
While she's without them
Try a little tenderness

You won't regret it
Women don't forget it
Love is their whole happiness
It's all so easy
Try a little tenderness

She may be weary
Women do get weary
Wearing the same shabby dress
And when she's weary
Try a little tenderness

You know she's waiting
Just anticipating
Things she may never possess
While she's without them
Try a little tenderness

Hmmmm, folks. Percy omitted the lovely bridge to that song.

Okay, buddy. How about a little J.P. for d.j. <smile>

I threw a party. nobody came.
I bought all the tickets. they cancelled the game.
I give you my picture. it didn't fit your frame
Be my friend tonight

Be my friend tonight. be my friend tonight.
I'll sleep on the couch. you can leave on that light.
Well, I won't do nothing wrong till you say it's right
Come on honey, be my friend tonight

Now you bring the glasses and I'll bring the wine
I'll rub your shoulders just like they were mine
I won't make no passes till it's passing time
If you're only gonna be my buddy tonight

Be my friend tonight. be my friend tonight.
I'll sleep on the couch. you can leave on that light.
Well, I won't do nothing wrong till you say it's right
Come on darling, be my friend tonight

Well, I'll mind my manners. my p's and q's
I won't give you nothing that you can't use
I'll whip out that old guitar and sing you the blues
Be my friend tonight

Be my friend tonight. be my friend tonight.
I'll sleep on the couch. you can leave on that light.
Well, I won't do nothing wrong till you say it's right
Come on honey, be my friend tonight
Be my friend tonight. be my friend tonight.

I'll sleep on the couch. you can leave on that light.
Well, I won't do nothing wrong till you say it's right
Come on darling, be my friend tonight
Oh, come on honey, be my friend tonight
Please, be my friend tonight.

My word, Yit. Where are you? Certainly not in Nanning, China.

A disco version of Mozart? You are kidding, of course. Wasn't the Turkish Rondo, was it?

uh uh, pretty sure it was Symphony 40 Molto Allegro (first movement). if you google it, there's lot of ringtone download sites that offer it, but don't know which one has the disco beat.

i'm comfy now in my hotel room with my laptop & a highspeed internet connection. Smile
