Eve, you say? Or did you mean Eva? Did I hear someone say my name?

I'm confused.

Well, all is quiet again, so how about a brief musical interlude, listeners:

Artist: Paul Weller Lyrics
Song: You Do Something to Me Lyrics

You do something to me, something deep inside
I'm hanging on the wire for a love I'll never find
You do something wonderful then chase it all away
Mixing my emotions that throws me back again
Hanging on the wire, I'm waiting for the change
I'm dancing through the fire, just to catch a flame
an' feel real again

You do something to me somewhere deep inside
I'm hoping to get close to a peace I cannot find

Dancing through the fire just to catch a flame
Just to get close to, just close enough
To tell you that.....

You do something to me something deep inside.

Well Letty-in Some Like It Hot there's a scene where the guy is pulling LPs out of his cabinet trying to decide what to put on when Marilyn comes down after watering the plant. He looks at a Rachmaninoff sleeve and shoves it back as if it might be a step too far.He mutters something to that effect as well.

What do you think that meant. It was scripted in the cold light of a smoke filled room.It wasn't actually in Tom Ewell's apartment and he wasn't actually translating Little Women for the small screen.

And I don't tiptoe either.Art isn't a status symbol.
It's a lesson.

Well, thank you, spendius. You made everything perfectly clear. Isn't our Brit a wonder folks?

For spendius:

I Can See Clearly Now Lyrics

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

I think I can make it now, the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is the rainbow I've been prayin?for
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

Look all around, there's nothin?but blue skies
Look straight ahead, nothin?but blue skies

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

Eva might go for this, if it's not too corny:

And I wake up in the morning with my hair down in my eyes and she says hi
And I stumble to the breakfast table while the kids are going off to school, Goodbye.
And she reaches out and takes my hand and squeezes it and says how you feeling hon?
And I look across at smiling lips that warm my heart, and see my morning sun.

And if that's not loving me, then all I've got to say,
God didn't make the little green apples, and it don't rain in Indianapolis in the summer time.
And there's no such thing as Dr. Seuss or Disney Land and Mother Goose, no nursery rhymes.
God didn't make the little green apples, and it don't rain in Indianapolis in the summer time.
And when myself is feeling low, I think about her face and go and ease my mind.

Sometimes I call her up, at home, knowing she's busy.
And ask her if she can get away, meet me and maybe we can grab a bite to eat.
And she drops what she's doing and she hurries down to meet me, and I'm always late.
But she sits waiting patiently, and smiles when she first sees me, because she's made that way.

And if that ain't loving me, then all I've got to say,
God didn't make the little green apples, and it don't snow in Minneapolis when the winter comes.
And there's no such thing as make-believe, puppy dogs or autumn leaves, no bb guns.
God didn't make the little green apples, and it don't snow in Minneapolis when the winter comes.

I woke up this morning
And there's frogs inside my socks.
Your Mamma she a hidin'
Inside the ice box
And your Daddy walks in
Wearing a Napoleon Bonaparte mask
And you ask why I don't live here.
Honey, how you come you have to ask.

Let's see if I can come up with something. Hmmm.

Here's one I like from the Broadway musical, "Rent."

SEASONS OF LOVE

525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear.
525,600 minutes - how do you measure,
Measure a year?
In daylights, in sunsets,
In midnights, in cups of coffee.
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife.
In 525,600 minutes - how do you measure
A year in the life?
How about love?
How about love?
How about love?
Measure in love. Seasons of love.

525,600 minutes! 525,000 journeys to plan.
525,600 minutes - how can you measure
The life of a woman or man?

In truths that she learned,
Or in times that he cried.
In bridges he burned,
Or the way that she died.

It's time now to sing out,
Tho' the story never ends
Let's celebrate - remember a year
In the life of friends.
Remember the love!
Remember the love!
Remember the love!
Measure in love. Seasons of love!
Seasons of love.

It is sooo good to be back to WA2K Radio! Even though my head is still pounding, I can enjoy the company of the best of the best withoput also increasing my blood pressure on politics!

Whaile waiting for Eva, here is something from Rumi:

I Want Burning" by Coleman Barks
Some Kiss We Want

There is some kiss we want with
our whole lives, the touch of
spirit on the body.
Seawater
begs the pearl to break its shell.

And the lily, how passionately
it needs some wild darling!

At night, I open the window and ask
the moon to come and press its
face against mine.

Breathe into me.

Close the language-door and
open the love window.
The moon
won't use the door, only the window.

You Should've Been There
M. Crenshaw

You should've been there as the sun went down
colors ran all across the ground
Then a thousand stars were spinning all around
Do you care...you should've been there

I saved you place right by my side
and waited there in the candlelight
But the only friend I had in sight was an empty chair
You should've been there

chorus:
Ran into some people we used to know
They were going somewhere I didn't want to go
So I kept on waiting for just a little bit more
not getting anywhere...you should've been there

Then I thought I saw you walking by into town
Into the crowd I went chasing you down
When I grabbed your arm...she spun around
a stranger glared...you should've been there

You should've been there
there's always so much to see in this old town
Don't you agree
But then again I never said I'd be anywhere
You should've been there

I saved you a place right by my side
and waited there in the candlelight
But the only friend I had in sight was an empty chair
You should've been there

chorus

Someplace Where Love Can't Find Me
John Hiatt

Some folks live by a big blue ocean
Some folks live in the center of town
Some folks live without any notion
Me I'm just tryin' to live your love down
I'm just tryin' to live your love down

I'm not lookin' for another
I'm just lookin' to get long gone
To someplace that no sweetheart has discovered
Someplace where memories don't hold on
Someplace where memories don't hold on

chorus:
Somewhere the ties won't bind me
Someplace where love can't find me
Somewhere the past's behind me
Someplace where love can't find me
Someplace where love can't find me

It's the same old sad situation
Fall in love and it breaks your heart
Surely there's somewhere in this great nation
Where no one comes together just to fall apart
Where no one comes together just to fall apart

chorus

I'm getting nowhere...I'm getting nowhere
And gettin' over it is getting so hard
I want to go there I want to go there
Before they throw my heart in a junkyard

'Cause I don't have another love in me
Can't even let the last one go
Before I do it again please send me
Up to Nova Scotia down to Mexico
Up to Nova Scotia down to Mexico

chorus

Radio Girl
M. Crenshaw

Well I don't know what she looks like
I've never seen her face before
But I hear her on my radio
From 1a.m. till 4

She's playing all my favorite records
She tells me all the latest news
I take her into my bed each night
And she rocks away my blues
'Cause she's my girl, my radio girl

Well sometimes in the middle of the night
I call her on the telephone
When I hear her voice on the other end
I don't feel all alone
Then I ask her to play that old song for me
This is a man's man's world
She always plays it right away
'Cause she's my radio girl
She's my girl, my radio girl

chorus:
Hey what's that sound
What do you call that sound
I like the stuff you play
And the things you say
Oh come on and gimmie some rock music
Or some R&B or anything you wanna play
Anything you chose
'Cause your're my girl
My radio girl

Ah, Eva, The Seasons of Love was wonderful, and sweet Diane with pounding head, some kiss we want should be in bed. <smile>

BBB, not to worry, things will be all better in the morning.

This is for our Panz whom we seldom see:

You'd be so nice to come to
You'd be so nice by the fire
While the breeze on high, sang a lullaby
You'd be all that I could desire

Under stars chilled by the winter
Under a harvest moon burning above
You'd be so nice
You'd be paradise, to come home to and love

Will You Love Me Tomorrow Lyrics

Tonight you're mine completely
You give you love so sweetly
Tonight the light of love is in your eyes
But will you love me tomorrow?

Is this a lasting treasure
Or just a moment's pleasure?
Can I believe the magic of your sighs?
Will you still love me tomorrow?

Tonight with words unspoken
You say that I'm the only one
But will my heart be broken
When the night meets the morning sun?

I'd like to know that your love
Is love I can be sure of
So tell me now, and I won't ask again
Will you still love me tomorrow?

(INSTRUMENTAL)

So tell me now, and I won't ask again
Will you still love me tomorrow?
Will you still love me tomorrow?
Will you still love me tomorrow?

Carol King

True Love - The Drifters

If you cry I think my heart would break,
That would be much more than I could take.
And if I saw a tear fall from your eye,
Darling don't you know that I would die.
True love, true love,
true love, true love.

If you cry I don't know what I'll do,
Baby cause I'm so in love with you.
And if I knew that I had caused you pain,
My tears would fall like the rain.
True love, true love,
true love, true love.
