Well, my goodness, McTag. Tell us about it, Brit.
You're right, Boo. That entire group of lyrics didn't sound quite right to me.
Some alterations required, (designer, of course)
Back in a little bit, listeners, to see if I can remember those "spot on" lyrics.
Tears Of A Clown
Now if there's a smile on my face
It's only there trying to fool the public
But when it comes down to fooling you
Now honey that's quite a different subject
But don't let my glad expression
Give you the wrong impression
Cos really I'm sad, Oh I'm sadder than sad
Well I'm hurt and I want you so bad
Like a clown I appear to be glad ooh yeah
CHORUS:
Well they're some sad things known to man
But ain't too much sadder than
The tears of a clown when there's noone around
Oh yeah, baby baby, oh yeah baby baby
Now if I appear to be carefree
It's only to camouflage my sadness
And honey to shield my pride I try
To cover this hurt with a show of gladness
But don't let my show convince you
That I've been happy since you
Decided to go, oh I need you so
Look I'm hurt and I want you to know
For others I put on a show ...CHORUS
Just like Pagliacci did
I try to keep my sadness hid
Smiling in the public eye
But in a lonely room I cry
The tears of a clown
When there's noone around, oh yeah, baby baby
Now if there's a smile on my face
Don't let my glad expression
Give you the wrong impression
Don't let this smile I wear
Make you think that I don't care
Cos really I'm sad...
edgar, that was perfect. Thanks, Texas.
And while we wait on McTag to explain his "proms" I think I may have the correct lyrics to Boo's song:
Your eyes don't shine like they used to shine
And the thrill is gone when your lips meet mine
I'm afraid the masquerade is over,
And so is love, and so is love
You look the same,
You're a lot the same,
But my heart says No, no, you're not the same.
I'm afraid the masquerade is over
And so is love, and so is love
I guess I'll have to play Pagliacci and get myself a clown's disguise
And learn to laugh like Pagliacci with tears in my eyes
Your words don't mean what they used to mean
They were once inspired, now they're just routine,
I'm afraid the masquerade is over,
And so is love and so is love.
That has got to be it!
Hey, boo. It wasn't your bad. It was them bad boys on the net. They did not have it structured correctly. Now we have verse; bridge; verse.
Calling McTag; Calling McTag. I have the QandA, Brit.
What is a Prom?
A Prom means a Promenade Concert, or a concert where part of the audience stands in a "promenade" area of the hall.
The BBC Proms is an annual music festival running from mid-July to mid-September and comprising over seventy Prom concerts.
What is Promming?
Part of the Proms audience has always stood in the Arena, directly in front of the orchestra, and many consider this the best position in the hall. However, you can also stand high up in the Gallery and just let the sound drift up to you.
Today there are still over 1,000 standing places available at each Prom. The traditionally low prices allow you to enjoy world-class concerts for just £4!
Day promming tickets cannot be booked in advance, so even if all seats have been sold, you always have a good chance of getting in. Early queuing is advisable for the more popular concerts, however.
Where and when does the BBC Proms take place?
The BBC Proms takes place at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The 2005 season will run from 15 July until 10 September inclusive.
During the season, there is a least one Prom concert every evening, some of which are preceded by a related pre-Prom talk.

Well if i had money
Tell you what I'd do
I'd go downtown and buy a Mercury or two
Crazy 'bout a Mercury

And cruise it up and down the road

I'm gonna buy me a Mercury
And cruise it up and down the road
Well hey now mama
You look so fine
ridin' round in your Mercury '49
Crazy 'bout a Mercury
Lord I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury
I'm gonna buy me a Mercury
And cruise it up and down the road
Well my baby went out
She didn't stay long
Bought herself a Mercury, come a cruisin' home
She's crazy bout a Mercury
Yeah she's crazy 'bout a Mercury
Gonna buy me a Mercury
And cruise it up and down the road
Well if I had money

Cadillac Ranch
Bruce Springsteen
Well, there she sits buddy justa gleaming in the sun
There to greet a working man when his day is done
I'm gonna pack my pa and I'm gonna pack my aunt
I'm gonna take them down to the Cadillac Ranch
Eldorado fins, whitewalls and skirts
Rides just like a little bit of heaven here on earth
Well buddy when I die throw my body in the back
And drive me to the junkyard in my Cadillac
Cadillac, Cadillac
Long and dark, shiny and black
Open up your engines let 'em roar
Tearing up the highway like a big old dinosaur
James Dean in that Mercury '49
Junior Johnson runnin' thru the woods of Caroline
Even Burt Reynolds in that black Trans-Am
All gonna meet down at the Cadillac Ranch
Cadillac, Cadillac
Long and dark, shiny and black
Open up them engines let 'em roar
Tearing up the highway like a big old dinosaur
Hey, little girlie in the blue jeans so tight
Drivin' alone through the Wisconsin night
You're my last love baby you're my last chance
Don't let 'em take me to the Cadillac Ranch
Cadillac, Cadillac
Long and dark, shiny and black
Pulled up to my house today
Ol' 55
Tom Waits
Well, my time went so quickly
I went lickety-splitly out to my old fifty-five
As I pulled away slowly, feelin' so holy,
God knows I was feelin' alive
And now the sun's comin' up
I'm ridin' with Lady Luck
Freeway cars and trucks
Stars beginning to fade, and I lead the parade
Just a wishin' I'd stayed a little longer
Lord, don't you know the feelin's gettin' stronger
Six in the morning, gave me no warnin'
I had to be on my way
Now the cars are all passin' me,
Trucks are all flashin' me
I'm headed home from your place
And now the sun's comin' up
I'm ridin' with Lady Luck
Freeway cars and trucks
Stars beginning to fade, and I lead the parade
Just a wishin' I'd stayed a little longer
Lord, don't you know, the feelin's gettin' stronger
Well, my time went to quickly
I went lickety-splitly out to my old fifty-five
As I pulled away slowly, feelin' so holy,
God knows I was feelin' alive
And now the sun's comin' up, yes it is
I'm ridin' with Lady Luck
Freeway cars and trucks
Freeway cars and trucks,
Ridin' with Lady Luck
Freeway cars and trucks,
Ridin' with Lady Luck
Freeway cars and trucks
Ridin' with Lady Luck...
Little Red Corvette
Prince
I guess I shoulda known
By the way u parked your car sideways
That it wouldn't last
See you're the kinda person
That believes in makin' out once
Love 'em and leave 'em fast
I guess I must be dumb
'Cuz U had a pocket full of horses
Trojan and some of them used
But it was Saturday night
I guess that makes it all right
And U say what have I got 2 lose?
And honey I say
Little red corvette
Baby you're much 2 fast
Little red corvette
U need a love that's gonna last
I guess I shoulda closed my eyes
When U drove me 2 the place
Where your horses run free
'Cuz I felt a little ill
When I saw all the pictures
Of the jockeys that were there before me
Believe it or not
I started to worry
I wondered if I had enough class
But it was Saturday night
I guess that makes it all right
And U say, "Baby, have U got enough gas?"
Oh yeah

I love it when a song comes together.....and BTW, Isn't that Smokie a hell of lyricist? Not a cliche to be found.
Hey I was watching TV. It's a very long programme, and from 4 concerts around the UK too- contributions from Belfast, Cardiff, Manchester, and Hyde Park London as well as the Albert Hall itself.
Check it on the BBC website- the Proms Concerts programme has run from July until now, it's huge.
since my buddy will probably be looking for a new, old car, one more from mr. springsteen
Used Cars
Bruce Springsteen
My little sister's in the front seat with an ice cream cone
My ma's in the black seat sittin' all alone
As my pa steers her slow out of the lot
for a test drive down Michigan Avenue
Now, my ma, she fingers her wedding band
And watches the salesman stare at my old man's hands
He's tellin' us all 'bout the break he'd give us if he could, but he just can't
Well if I could, I swear I know just what I'd do
Now, mister, the day the lottery I win I ain't ever gonna ride in no used car
again
Now, the neighbors come from near and far
As we pull up in our brand new used car
I wish he'd just hit the gas and let out a cry and tell 'em all they can kiss
our asses goodbye
My dad, he sweats the same job from mornin' to morn
Me, I walk home on the same dirty streets where I was born
Up the block I can hear my little sister in the front seat blowin' that horn
The sounds echoin' all down Michigan Avenue
Now, mister, the day my numbers comes in I ain't ever gonna ride in no used car
again
dj, I am so sorry that your friend got his car stolen last night. Talking about bad boys.
Well, Canada. My cadillac died during Frances, but I still have that Dodge Monaco.
Love all of your car songs, and I know all the guys did as well, right listeners?
here's 'nother Cars' song, DJ: ;-)
She's driving away with the dim lights on
She's making a play and she can't go wrong
She never waits too long
She's winding them down on her clock machine
and she won't give up 'cause she's seventeen
She's a frozen fire
She's my one desire
And I don't want to hold her down
Don't want to break her crown
When she says, Let's Go
I like the nightlife baby
She says, Let's Go
She's laughing inside 'cause they can't refuse
She's so beautifun now she doesn't wear her shoes
She doesn't like to choose
She's got wonderful eyes and a risque mouth
And when I ask her before she said she's holding out
She's a frozen fire
She's my one desire
I don't want to hold her down
Don't want to break her crown
When she says, Let's Go
I like the nightlife baby
She says, Let's Go
great song
atrocious pun
keep up the good work
thanks. keep up the pun or the song?
Well, listeners, Europe is asleep, and as Yit and dj talk cars and puns, letty has a night time notion.
One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster
The bars are temples but the pearls ain't free
You'll find a god in every golden cloister
A little flesh, a little history
I can feel an angel sliding up to me
One night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble
Not much between despair and ecstasy
One night in Bangkok and the tough guys tumble
Can't be too careful with your company
I can feel the devil walking next to me
I have a friend who lives in Northern Ireland, so this is for him and a goodnight song from me:
Elton John - Belfast Lyrics
Deep inside my soul fights a war
I can't explain, I can't cross over any more
All I see are dirty faces
Rain and wire, and common sense in pieces
But I try to see through Irish eyes
Belfast
Look outside, summer's lost and gone
It's a long walk on a street of right and wrong
In every inch of sadness
Rocks and tanks go hand in hand with madness
But I never saw a braver place
Belfast
And it's sad when they sing, and hollow ears listen
Of smoking black roses, on the streets of Belfast
And so say your lovers from under the flowers
Every foot of this world needs an inch of Belfast
Who's to say on whom heaven smiles
Our different ways we try hard to recognise
No more enchanted evenings
The pubs are closed and all the ghosts are leaving
But you'll never let them shut you down
Belfast
The enemy is not at home
A jealous green streaks down this faulty diamond
No bloody boots or crucifix
Can ever hope to split this emerald island
But I never saw a braver face
Belfast.
From Letty with love
i watched an interesting film tonight, a rather dark comedy called "drowning mona"
in one scene, a song was featured that i haven't heard in years
and here it is
Never Been to Spain
Three Dog Night
Well I never been to Spain
But I kinda like the music
Say the ladies are insane there
And they sure know how to use it
The don't abuse it
Never gonna lose it
I can't refuse it
Well I never been to England
But I kinda like the Beatles
Well, I headed for Las Vegas
Only made it out to Needles
Can you feel it
It must be real it
Feels so good
Oh, feels so good
Well I never been to heaven
But I been to Oklahoma
Well they tell me I was born there
But I really don't remember
In Oklahoma, not Arizona
What does it matter
What does it matter
Well I never been to Spain
But I kinda like the music
Say the ladies are insane there
And they sure know how to use it
The don't abuse it
Never gonna lose it
I can't refuse it
Well I never been to heaven
But I been to Oklahoma
Well they tell me I was born there
But I really don't remember
In Oklahoma, not Arizona
What does it matter
What does it matter
i saw the three dog night about twenty years ago, of course they were really the two dog night, but the show was actually quite good
