Morning All, Today's quotations. As found in the Shakespeare Birthday Book, Macbeth may be Letty's favourite, but it only gets posted if it's in the book. (No more Macbeth until December.)

Thy love is better than high birth to me.
Sonnet XCI

There's no trust,
No faith, no honesty in men.

Romeo And Juliet Act III Sc II

@Letty,
It's got nothing to do with my personal preferences, and everything to do with what's in the book I purchased from a car boot sale.

@Olivier5,
Quite a tour..

I tried google translating some of the comments but didn't get far. Negative re immigrants and some antisemitic, far as I could figure out. Not that Souchon is that.

I did find this -

Green Day, An American idiot? Funny Monsieur.

Here's a better one by Manhattan Transfer:

@ossobuco,
I wouldn't care too much about the comments... Souchon's song is about an African immigrant in Paris, strolling and thinking about survival, hope, beauty, dreams, revolution, and that emptiness in the stomach...

Edit: Alain Souchon has been my favorite French singer and songwriter for decades. He is far above the competition. He usually writes with Laurent Voulzy (whom I also love and have played some songs here including Rock Collection): Voulzy writes the music while Souchon writes the lyrics of their respective albums, but they don't form a band. Recently they recorded ONE song together:

Welcome back, Latin George. Your prune quote reminded me of this guy, but first some info:

Snow was born and raised in the North York district of Toronto, Ontario. For much of his childhood, he lived in the Allenbury Gardens public housing project, and at the age of 16 moved to Ajax, Ontario. Growing up in a diverse neighbourhood, O'Brien blended dancehall and reggae with rock and popular music to create his own unique style of music.

Favor for our contributors. It's best not to reply to just one as it spoils the format of our radio.

@Letty,
American Idiot is an excellent album that did a lot for Green Day's reputation. The title refers to George Bush and people voting for him:

@Olivier5,
I know, MON AMI, I commented on it with pleasure and a smile.

You missed "the Mime", monsieur, and he inspired this one.
