Hello, all you radio peeps. Our swing band has got a gig tonight in a club in Partington. I'm on second trombone.
Way back when, we in the UK used to enjoy the comedy of Peter Sellers. Here he is in a number with Sophia Loren.

Just a reminder to our radio folks. We don't use the rating system any longer because it doesn't match our format.

McTag, Fantastic that you are going to be a star tonight. Here is your theme song:

ah, it's Saturday and all my cyber friends are off having fun. Razz

Anyone remember The Lady of the Lake?

Lady of the Lake is the titular name of the ruler of Avalon in the Arthurian legend. She plays a pivotal role in many stories, including giving King Arthur his sword Excalibur, enchanting Merlin, and raising Lancelot after the death of his father.

Hope our contributors will comment on the songs that we play here.

Vony, the Shack song wouldn't play here, but loved In the Ghetto by the King as well as Mustang Sally.

Thinking of my late husband in happier times and remembering that he introduced me to this fabulous quartet.

Saying good evening with them. First one that reminds me of Ellinas, because I called him our pug nosed Greek.

and, our short poem for today:

Fog
By Carl Sandburg
The fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

I did not know that 'Believe me, if all those endearing young charms', written by Irish poet, Thomas Moore in 1808, was dedicated to the poet's wife who suffered from smallpox scars. What I had previously thought it to be nothing more than a sweet melody has now become more meaningful. My thanks to Letty for bringing this to my attenton.

Believe me, if all those endearing young charms,
Which I gaze on so fondly to-day,
Were to change by to-morrow and fleet in my arms,
Like fairy gifts fading away,
Thou wouldst still be adored, as this moment thou art,
Let thy loveliness fade as it will;
And around the dear ruin each wish of my heart
Would entwine itself verdantly still.
It is not while beauty and youth are thine own,
And thy cheeks unprofaned by a tear,
That the fervor and faith of a soul can be known,
To which time will but make thee more dear.
No, the heart that has truly loved never forgets,
But as truly loves on to the close
As the sunflower turns on her God when he sets
The same look which she turned when he rose.

I've always been a fan of rag-time and 1920's heavy beat Jazz. I also enjoy many female performers. One of my many favorites is Queen Latifa, who also now has her own TV show at about 9 am.

One Queen Latifah favorite of mine is from the broadway show, and later movie, CHICAGO is the song "Be Good To MaMa".

" You be good to MaMa and MaMa will be good to you". This is basically 1920's "low down jazz"...And I say..."Play it again"...I just love this kind of music/song.
