Thanks for Clayton Moore at Pleasure Island.
Pleasure Island was an amusement park out my way.
It's gone now and an office park is in its place.
As a child I played at the amusement park.
As an adult I worked in the office park.
I liked the amusement park better.

Good morning from our Florida radio station. Just found out that Monday is named after the moon. Odd, no?

Today is this guy's birthday:

I remember him best for the movie The Fugitive.

The trailer, y'all.

Today is Fay Wray's birthday, and spent a lot of time doing research. Here is the colorized version, y'all.

Not to worry. It is only Fay Wray. The idea behind the death of King Kong was, " It wasn't the airplanes that killed him, it was "beauty that killed the beast"

Once again, Calling all musicians, painters, poets, music lovers and brief chat folks.

Today is Claude McKay birthday, and here is one of his poems.

America

Although she feeds me bread of bitterness,
And sinks into my throat her tiger's tooth,
Stealing my breath of life, I will confess
I love this cultured hell that tests my youth!
Her vigor flows like tides into my blood,
Giving me strength erect against her hate.
Her bigness sweeps my being like a flood.
Yet as a rebel fronts a king in state,
I stand within her walls with not a shred
Of terror, malice, not a word of jeer.
Darkly I gaze into the days ahead,
And see her might and granite wonders there,
Beneath the touch of Time's unerring hand,
Like priceless treasures sinking in the sand.

@vonny,
Ah, my favorite Britess. Welcome back, gal. You and Canadians go quite well together.

Love that one by Peggy Lee, and what a fantastic mix by Diana Kr(ah)ll. Knew almost all of the. The first one was Deja Vu of course.

Here's a jazz version of Corcovado replete with lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPyY80pUujE

Quiet nights of quiet stars
Quiet cords from my guitar
Floating on the silence that surrounds us

Quiet thoughts and quiet dreams
Quiet walks by quiet streams
And the window looking on the mountains and the sea how lovely
This is where i want to be
Here with you so close to me
Until the final flicker of life's ember

I who was lost and lonely
Believing life was only
A bitter tragic joke
Have found with you
The meaning of existence
Oh my love

This is where i want to be
Here with you so close to me
Until the final flicker of life's ember
I who was lost and lonely
Believing life was only
A bitter tragic joke
Have found with you
The meaning of existence
Oh my love

I knew the Freddie Fender record of Wasted Days and Wasted Nights that we always hear was not the original. I searched and learned that the original was also by Freddie and that he wrote it. Anyway, here is the original version

@edgarblythe,
Love Wasted Days and Wasted Nights by Freddy, Texas.

Going to say goodnight with another classical that I have played before but is always worth playing twice.

Once again, calling all musicians, painters, poets, music lovers and chatters.

A fond memory for me, y'all. So long ago, we took a turn at an island of flamingos. My son told me that they got their pink color from eating shrimp.

Then, when I watched this guy dancing, I thought he was doing that bird dance.

@izzythepush,
welcome back, Izz with a y. Someone once told me that a rapper was a monologue set to music. You just made me dizzy and feel like a knight, buddy.

Inspired by my friend Roger's avatar. (a donkey). I still like Allan Jones' version better. What a great range has he and perfect intonation.
