Today is Tolstoy's birthday, and I remember him best for this lady.

JLNobody said that he enjoyed Andre's visuals better than his violin. Love to get that painter/musician's take on thing of that nature.

@Letty,
My favorite version of Green Green Grass of Home is by Jerry Lee Lewis. The studio version.

Thanks, guys. It worked. Hope y'all liked Tolstoy's Anna.

Odd, edgar, I couldn't get Jerry Lee to play.

neko, Loved that one too, and welcome back. Labor Day will be with us soon.

Here's a shorter version of Hair.

@Letty,
I too have a special appreciation for Johnny Cash, but that's mainly because an old friend who passed last year was his best fan. But will no one tell me what is meant on this thread by "bump"?

edgar, Jerry played after all.

Imur, Love Jim Croce. He looks so much like my friend Santa Tomas E Lucas. (Dan Lucas) who died of parkinson's disease. That memory song by him was great.

JL, welcome back to you too. Always good to have you with us.

Been having troubles with my equipment in our Florida radio station.

Hope I didn't miss anyone on our station here. Still concerned about euroGeorge, however.

Saying goodnight with two songs.

First, a classical:

Now, Pet and Bobby

From Letty with love and appreciation to all of you here.

On long threads such as this, it sometimes happens that someone will post,
but that post will not show up. It will not show up until several more posts
are made. These posts, whose only purpose is to make other, hidden, posts
appear, are called "bumps".

Good morning from our Florida radio station.

Latin George, Love your comments and your music The Bright Mississippi was great as was George Benson.

edgar, Deano teaching John Wayne how to sing was fantastic. Hope I didn't miss any of the contributions to our radio.

Two birthdays folks for today:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1bWqViY5F4

Summertime, and the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin' and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy's rich and your ma is good-lookin'
So hush little baby, Don't you cry

One of these mornings you're gonna rise up singing
And you'll spread your wings and you'll take to the sky
But 'til that morning, there ain't nothin' can harm you
With Daddy and Mammy standin' by

Once again, calling all poets, music lovers, musicians, painters, and friends:

Our poem for today:

May you always find your treasure
In the blessings that life sends
In the beauty of each season
In the company of good friends.

May you grow in faith and wisdom,
Gather strength from every storm
May you always have a smile to share
And someone to keep you warm.

May each path you choose bring promise
Of the things you're dreaming of
May your world be filled with peace and joy,
And your heart be filled with love

Well, just me again. Rolling Eyes

How about some NASA. First a bit about Sally Ride:

Until her death on July 23, 2012, Ride continued to help students - especially girls -study science and mathematics. She wrote science books and other things for students and teachers. She worked with science programs and festivals around the United States.

Now, a musical tribute:
