I recall attending a Furey Brothers and Davey Arthur gig about twenty years ago. Some drunk guy incoherently proposed to his girlfriend on stage and the misguided damsel accepted to everyone's astonishment (particularly the band who were somewhat embarrassed at the spectacle). They played 'Tara Hill' that night and it was - for me - the highlight of the concert. Thanks for playing it, Letty.

Here's another from them. A late-19th century song entitled 'When You Were Sweet Sixteen.'

I love you like I've never loved before
Since first I saw you on the village green
Come to me or my dream of love is all
I love you as I loved you
When you were sweet
When you were sweet sixteen

Hope the link works!

Hope all is well with our radio, y'all.

Thinking of Perry this morning.

He did a lot of bumps back in the good old days.

bump one Mountain Greenery
bump two, Blue Room

Fantastic mix of music on our radio today. Wish I could acknowledge each contribution, but as Perry would say It's Impossible.

Good to have pullman back with us, and I love islands.

Imur, That is my favorite Irish song. I like it, because I graduated from high school at sixcteen.

Region, More people made money mining miners than miners made mining gold and Levi Strauss was one of them.

Latin George, It's always good to have you here.

A tribute to Perry now:

Hope y'all liked Blue Room

Another island, y'all. I remember this on best by Leon Russell, but I enjoy different versions.

Thanks for both versions of "Back to the Island".
Two different styles, but I like them both.
Sorry, can't choose.

Good morning from our radio station here in Florida

Latin George, Loved The Devil's Gallop and thanks for your comment on the two Islands.

Region, Cold Pizza was great and gave me a smile.

edgar, "the jester" did a good job with that one.

Izz with a Y. Thanks for the introduction to that BBC music.

Hope I didn't miss anyone, but as you all know, I thumb up your contributions as it's my way of saying "Thank you". Nice to see that you thanked me.

Two more versions, y'all.

First, "the king"

Now, Tom Jones:

The only reason that I liked Leon Russel's best, is because I first heard him at a great site called Long Beach Carolina where we spent some time with friends.

Once again calling all musicians, painters, poets, music lovers and talk show hosts.

Maybe someone with decide about The Green Green Grass of Home later.

Odd, y'all, I watched Cold Case last evening and it was full of Johnny Cash stuff.

Love this one by him and June:
