Latin George, Welcome back and you sent me searching:Benjamin Chase "Ben" Harper is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Harper plays an eclectic mix of blues, folk, soul, reggae and rock music and is known for his guitar-playing skills, vocals, and live performances.

Great song by him and somehow, it reminded me of Harper Lee, but I won't go into that one.

Here is James and Carly sing about that bird, y'all.

Here's one to match:

Latin George, Love Stompin' At the Savoy by Ella and Louis.

Hope y'all like Dirty Dancing and Amos Moses.

One reason that I played the Beatles song, is that so long ago, yitwail our green sea turtle had replaced "let it be" with Lettybee. God bless him. I miss him and his wife. Sad

@edgarblythe,
edgar, once again thanks for your comment and personaly acknowledgement.

You know how I love Ray Charles. Don't know that one, so thanks again for the memory.

Today is Robert Redford's birthday, but first some info:

Charles Robert Redford Jr., better known as Robert Redford, is an American actor, film director, producer, businessman, environmentalist, philanthropist, and founder of the Sundance Film Festival

Here he is with Babs in The Way We Were:

Once again calling all poets, music lovers, musicians, and painters.

Our poem for today:

An Indian Summer Day on the Prairie

(IN THE BEGINNING)

The sun is a huntress young,
The sun is a red, red joy,
The sun is an indian girl,
Of the tribe of the Illinois.

(MID-MORNING)

The sun is a smouldering fire,
That creeps through the high gray plain,
And leaves not a bush of cloud
To blossom with flowers of rain.

(NOON)

The sun is a wounded deer,
That treads pale grass in the skies,
Shaking his golden horns,
Flashing his baleful eyes.

(SUNSET)

The sun is an eagle old,
There in the windless west.
Atop of the spirit-cliffs
He builds him a crimson nest.

@edgarblythe,
Funny, edgar. Love The Clovers Doing Devil or Angel. Hope you liked the them from Cheers.

Inspired by that great group of performers, I decided to do a jazz version of this one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lf2aAIdF2qQ

Here are the lyrics:

I'm looking over a four leaf clover
I overlooked before
One leaf is sunshine, the second is rain
Third is the roses that grow in the lane

No need explaining
The one remaining it's somebody I adore
I'm looking over a four leaf clover
I overlooked before

I think we've had this conversation before, edgar, but I love Mr. Charles, but only when he does country. I also love Bellefonte, but only when he doesn't do country.
