@Olivier5,
On your other link, a poster said that --

"Lazlo Mortimer 1 month ago (edited)

After a brutal public beating in which his hands were broken with a rifle butt, a solder taunted: “sing now you son of a __.” Jara struggled to his feet and sang a verse of “We Shall Succeed.” He was taken out of the stadium and found dead the next day, a victim of machine gun fire. The story of his beating, and death transformed him from activist and artist to myth and martyr. Jara died at the age of 35, having lived a rich and remarkable life. His legacy of scholarship, music, poetry, and social commitment alone assures his place in Chilean history. The Pinochet govt’s efforts to break his spirit and silence him failed. Jara’s last act of defiance made him an international symbol of human rights, courage, and a part of the political consciousness of Latin America and the world and we still sing his songs."

Thus my wow.
I also like his voice. My liking voices is sort of personal and not what musicians might appreciate. My liking is what I take as spoken to me, perhaps reminding me of other voices.

@Letty,
You're welcome, Letty.

I notice that I tend to like Euro's submissions and Olivier's, they tend to get to my sympathetic side.

Good morning to all from our radio station here in Florida.

Sorry that I can't comment on each song or discussion. Suffice it to say that I like it all. I know that our edgar knows the right stuff about the jester.

Two songs for the day here, and they are the same by two different people, so I would like your opinion of which is your favorite.

@Letty,
The Jamie Cullum version is too Las Vegas cheesy for my taste. Dinah Washington is fine for me.

@tsarstepan,
Welcome back, dear friend, and thanks for letting us know your choice.

Great song, incidentally, and are they The Alternative Rock band from Versailles? Love it!

Here's a surprise, y'all. Today is this lady's birthday, but first some info.

Terri Lynn Sauson (born August 5, 1968), known professionally as Terri Clark, is a Canadian country music artist who has had success in both Canada and the United States. Signed to Mercury Records in 1995, she released her self-titled debut that year. Both it and its two follow-ups, 1996's Just the Same and 1998's How I Feel, were certified platinum in both countries, and produced several Top Ten country hits.

Love this one by both of them.

Yes. Don't want to go JTT on this thread but we can in part 'thank' the CIA for that...

Once again, Calling all musicians, music lovers, painters, poets and legends.

Oops, Olivier 5 sorry I didn't get to read your message, but perhaps you'll like this legend.

I think that Zelda is the Greek goddess of the storms.

Hope the ones of us who are subject to those storms don't become a legend as well. Razz

I like the Dinah Washington version. She is high on my list of all time favorite artists. As is Don Gibson.

My son loves Zelda games. He even went to a concert of Zelda music once. Whatever... :[

tsar, I need inspiration and that song did it for me. I believe in myself, too.

Olivier 5, Was that Persian music and dancers? I had a persian cat and my older sister had a persian rug once. I will await your answer before I say more. Didn't know about the Zelda games.

edgar, Thanks for your choice and I love Harry doing that Venezuela song.

For some reason, that Persian Carpet reminded me of this magic carpet.
