Good early morning from here in our Florida radio station.

edgar, Exile's I Want to Kiss You All over was great. Didn't know that one so thanks again for the introduction.

Latin George, thanks for your comment and Blondie's Dreaming was fantastic, as well as Cherish the Ladies.

hbg, My favorite by you was Strauss' The Voice of Spring.

Today is Lou Diamond Phillip's birthday, and he did La Bamba.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEqQ479Ud5U

Another, The Day the Music Died.

Buddy Holly, Richie Valence and The Big Bopper all died in a plane crash.

this may be an English translation, but if so, it's not very good:

In order to dance the Bamba
In order to dance the Bamba
A little humor is needed
A little humor for me and for you
Faster and faster
Faster and faster
I'll be for you
I'll be for you
I'm not a sailor
I'm not a sailor
I'm captain
I'm captain
I'm captain

I've just been to see the Lego Movie. They said everyone would come out singing Everything Is Awesome. Not me though I stayed to the end of the credits when they put this on.

Afternoon all.
I've only poked my nose into the weather threads over the past few days, as I'm busy fitting new soffits and guttering on my decrepid old house, stopping to have a quick glance on a2k when I make myself a bacon sarnie.

Nearly finished now, so I'm promising myself a day off soon.

This has been playing on the radio, and has become a bit of an earworm which I find myself humming whilst climbing up and down my scaffold tower...

It's Mike Oldfield!

I don't know who the singer is, but to me he's a dead ringer for a young Freddie Mercury....

Hope everyone's fit and well......

I've just seen this picture on the BBC webpage.
http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/73044000/jpg/_73044645_river.jpg

The orange water has come from an abandoned iron mine that's recently flooded. They say there's nothing to worry about.

Don't know about Legos. Lou as Richie was good. The guy playing the brother sort of stole the show.

William Butler Yeats visits Lincoln Park and escapes Unscathed

As I went out one evening to take the evening air
I was blessed by a blood-red moon
In Lincoln Park the dark was turning

I spied a fair young maiden and a flame was in her eyes
And on her face lay the steel blue skies
Of Lincoln Park, the dark was turning, turning

They spread their sheets upon the ground just like a wandering tribe
And the wise men walked in their Robespierre robes
Through Lincoln Park the dark was turning

The towers trapped and trembling and the boats were tossed about
When the fog rolled in and the gas rolled out
From Lincoln Park the dark was turning

Like wild horses freed at last we took the streets of wine
But I searched in vain for she stayed behind
In Lincoln Park the dark was turning, turning

I'll go back to the city where I can be alone
And tell my friend she lies in stone
In Lincoln Park the dark was turning

Love Phil Ochs and William Butler Yeats, edgar, and thanks again for your comment.

hbg, welcome back to you as well. Loved Marta song as well as Buck's two

Inspired by our edgar's contribution, I found this poem by the man:

The brawling of a sparrow in the eaves,
The brilliant moon and all the milky sky,
And all that famous harmony of leaves,
Had blotted out man's image and his cry.

A girl arose that had red mournful lips
And seemed the greatness of the world in tears,
Doomed like Odysseus and the labouring ships
And proud as Priam murdered with his peers;

Arose, and on the instant clamorous eaves,
A climbing moon upon an empty sky,
And all that lamentation of the leaves,
Could but compose man's image and his cry.

-- William Butler Yeats, 1892

More synchronicity, because Here another birthday lady. Hmm, I need to have a talk with our maker of the visuals and print.

Hey, everybody, rise and shine. I think I had an illusion because I could have sworn I saw edgar in our radio station and now he's not here.

Today is John Travolta's birthday, so here is a tribute to him followed by another version of the same song.

Now, Nat's version.
