@Letty,
good evening msletty , ed and other listeners to WA2K Radio !

today is the birthday of a great ( jazz ) musician : Tex Beneke .

Quote:
Gordon Lee "Tex" Beneke (February 12, 1914 – May 30, 2000[1][2]) was an American saxophonist, singer, and bandleader. His career is a history of associations with bandleader Glenn Miller and former musicians and singers who worked with Miller. His band is also associated with the careers of Eydie Gorme, Henry Mancini and Ronnie Deauville. Beneke also solos on the recording the Glenn Miller Orchestra made of their popular song "In The Mood" and sings on another popular Glenn Miller recording, "Chattanooga Choo Choo". Jazz critic Will Friedwald considers Beneke to be one of the major blues singers who sang with the big bands of the early 1940s

here we go : Chattanooga Choo Choo

Good morning from here in our Florida radio station.

hbg, I knew all of your songs. Especially enjoyed "the man in black" with Homer and Jethro.

edgar, thanks for your comment and Tha Danlees doning One Summer's Night was one that I didn't know. Thanks again for the introduction.

Think that I will begin the day with what I have referred to as the theme song for this new forum:

Now, a birthday man who is really good. First some info:

Robert Peter "Robbie" Williams is an English singer-songwriter, and occasional actor. He is a member of the pop group Take That, but has found greater commercial success as a solo artist.

Now, his tribute, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
Pictures of Life's Other Side by Hank was great, edgar. Thanks for your comment.

I laughed when I heard Homer and Jethro say:

We can't sing and we ain't funny. Buy this record won't you honey. Poor old Victor needs the money. Setting the woods on fire.

Okay, here it is:

I think I have mentioned here, more than once, that Hank was my first favorite artist. Settin the woods on Fire is one I remember well from childhood. Not that I had any first hand knowledge whereof he sang.

@edgarblythe,
I learned about Hank when my older sister said that he was a poet. She was right, and my daughter arrived safely home from a meeting with her in Richmond, Virginia.

Didn't know that one by Leonard, edgar, You Know Who I Am was great. Remember when I told you that the first song that I heard by him was Suzanne?

Here's Joan doing that song.

The first time I heard anybody else sing Suzanne was on a Judy Collins album. Joan is great, as always.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, thanks again for your comment. Don't know I Love How You Love Me, nor The Paris Sister. That was good and thanks again for the introduction.

Once again, two versions of the same song. First, Nat

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5UH9VHKbaY

Now, a funny version by someone that I don't know. First, some info on the guy:

Terrence C. Carson (born November 19, 1958) is an American singer and stage, voice, and television actor. He is best known for portraying Kyle Barker on the FOX sitcom Living Single and Star Wars: The Clone Wars as the voice double for Samuel L. Jackson. He is also well known for voicing Kratos in the iconic God of War video game series. He has most recently starred as one of the mall carolers in a Marshalls/T.J. Maxx commercial.

Now, his version.
