Hey, J.P.Morgan, it Worked.

edgar, I like her in Funny Girl as well, and that hilarious group of comics was funny as well.

Going to say good night with two songs.

First, a birthday guy.

and speaking of Cather in the Rye, a song by two talented people gone too soon.

Always great having England with us as well as all you other talented people.

From Letty with love to the world

I tried reading Salinger a year or two back. Some have told me he is for young readers. Perhaps.
Coming through the Rye is a good one.

@edgarblythe,
Didn't know Pretty Peggy O by the jest, edgar, but thanks for your comment on Coming through the Rye.

Today is Roger Miller's birthday, but first some surprising info.

Roger Dean Miller (January 2, 1936 – October 25, 1992) was an American singer, songwriter, musician and actor, best known for his honky-tonk-influenced novelty songs. His most recognized tunes included the chart-topping country/pop hits "King of the Road", "Dang Me" and "England Swings", all from the mid-1960s Nashville sound era.

I thought that he was British. Here's a tribute to the guy

@Letty,
Cairo is lovely at this time of the year, just gone noon half past monsoon.

England Swings could only have been written by a visitor. It's an idealised notion, not something we're good at.

Miller's Cave is a favorite song of mine. I too thought of Walk like a Egyptonian.
It's past the season, but I couldn't resist this

@edgarblythe,
Love that stuttering pig, edgar.

I called our Morgan J.P. Morgan and I recall something magic about the pyramids.

Pyramid power
Pyramid power refers to alleged supernatural or paranormal properties of the ancient Egyptian pyramids and objects of similar shape.

I think it was J.P. who sat in one and all her got was fleas.

Remember Steve Martin?

I remember Steve doing that. I guess we might as well get this one in while we're at it.

I had forgot the Beatles did that one.
I know this one best by Rusty Draper, but here is the Billy Vaughn version.

I'm in a real ska mood right now. I first heard this years ago, really liked it then promptly forgot who they were, I've just found it again.

Most of the band look like they've just stepped off the se of The Sopranos.
