@edgarblythe,
Good to see you back with us, edgar, and thanks for your comment and personal acknowledgement. Knew every one of those Christmas songs by Harry. They were calming and comforting.

I like this one, too.

edgar, Loved your Elvis song. He was a king, wasn't he.

saying goodnight with two contributions.

First, poor Chet Baker. It's his birthday.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GD2l7VwQpbg

Now, the lyrics

A country dance was being held in a garden
I felt a bump and heard an "Oh, beg your pardon"
Suddenly I saw polka dots and moonbeams
All around a pug-nosed dream

The music started and was I the perplexed one
I held my breath and said "May I have the next one?"
In my frightened arms, polka dots and moonbeams
Sparkled on a pug-nosed dream

There were questions in the eyes of other dancers
As we floated over the floor
There were questions but my heart knew all the answers
And perhaps a few things more

Now in a cottage built of lilacs and laughter
I know the meaning of the words "Ever after"
And I'll always see polka dots and moonbeams
When I kiss the pug-nosed dream.

and, our poem for the evening.

Tiger! Tiger! burning bright
In the forest of the night
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?

And What shoulder, and what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? and what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the lamb make thee?

Tiger! Tiger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

William Blake

dlowan and I discussed this so long ago and my older sister thought it was just a poem about a tiger and a lamb.

Hope hbg is alright. Nice having our Englishman with us.

From Letty with love and a feeling of Christmas
