@edgarblythe,
Didn't know that one by Ray and Jill, edgar, but it reminded me of the Puppy Love generation.

Thanks for your comment.

Here's and interesting combination. Bet you'll like this one.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I thought of country bumpKINS.

Love that one by Woody. Let's hope he's right.

Love The Little Drummer boy and Odetta was great. Did I see where she did Bob Dylan?

I'm going to say goodnight a bit early as my back hurts a bit.

Nice having the pushman with us today. I love sharing things with you and him.

Well, if Odetta did do "the jester", I'm going to say goodnight with the king.

Just in case.

This should wake everyone up. I saw them at Glastonbury festival, while they were playing I bumped into an old friend who'd spent the last month watching Apocalypse Now on a loop.

good morning msletty and all listeners to WA2K Radio !

today is the birthday of " Professor Longhair " .

Quote:
Henry Roeland "Roy" Byrd (December 19, 1918 – January 30, 1980), better known as Professor Longhair, was a New Orleans blues singer and pianist. Professor Longhair is noteworthy for having been active in two distinct periods, both in the heyday of early rhythm and blues, and in the resurgence of interest in traditional jazz after the founding of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

Izzy, you didn't notice that I changed your name from push to pull. Know why?
Didn't know The Pixies' Alec Eiffel. Great one. Did you know that Rudolph Valentino did The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse?

edgar, liked that one by "the king".

hbg, Welcome back. I was a bit concerned about you. Professor Longhair was great, and I knew most of those songs:

Merry Go Round Broke Down and Drinking Rum and Coca Cola.

Love Gordon's Oh What a Beautiful Morning.

What a surprise, y'all. Today is this lady's birthday.

Now the brothers.

Because you can't help but tamper with a classic? Izzy the Push is a character from William Burroughs' Nova Express.

Quote:
Nova Express is a social commentary on human and machine control of life. The Nova Mob—Sammy the Butcher, Izzy the Push, The Subliminal Kid, and others—are viruses, "defined as the three-dimensional coordinate point of a controller." "which invade the human body and in the process produce language." These Nova Criminals represent society, culture, and government, and have taken control. Inspector Lee and the rest of the Nova Police are left fighting for the rest of humanity in the power struggle

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nova_Express

David Bowie was a fan of Burroughs' cut up technique, and used it in the album Diamond Dogs.

Well, I'm sorry it didn't work y'all. It was Magic Dance by David Bowie and a response to the pushman.

The reason that I said pull was more important that push, is because I did commercials for a politician and he won. I could have had any school that I wanted in the area of Virginia.

edgar, I was hoping that you would respond to the tribute to Phoenix and his brother and sister. It doesn't matter, maybe it will work later.

I love EmilyDickenson. She was so sad in a way. I did This is my letter to the world that never wrote to me. Setanta did it as well.

I am nobody was pensive but great.

Going to say goonight with Rober Williams.

First, the instrumental.

Now, the lyrics.

Tonight we love while the moon
Beams down in dream light tonight
We touch the stars
Love is ours
Night winds that sigh
Embrace the sky

Tonight we love in the glow
That glows so softly I know
This wasn't meant to borrow but tomorrow
Will it be gone
Or will it always live on
Tonight we love, tonight.

I always enjoy having our Brit here, and hbg from Ontario via Germany

and still, From Letty with love to all of you
