@McTag,
Welcome back, McTag. Love "gentleman Jim" doing You're the Only good Thing That's Happened to me as well as Kennedy's prom song.

I know you like poetry, so check out The Highwayman. Funny, because so long ago, there was a guy named Thok on the Realm, and he interpreted my having played poem set to music three times as this:

What I tell you three times is true to means if you saw a couple three times in public, that meant it was a serious love.

How about The Four Freshmen now.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCsnI9e7gvA

If this doesn't work, I'll have to do the bump bit again. Razz

edgar, I love those Highwaymen doing Michael Row the Boat Ashore.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, as you know, I love Donovan and Poor Love was great.

The Four Freshmen inspired The Letterman, and The Beach Boys.

Here are a couple of versions of the same song.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think I shall do so with two songs.

First, a classical.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQVd_N1xdVM

Now from the Bird Man.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KaNwqdlz50

and, the lyrics.

Autumn in New York
Why does it seem so inviting
Autumn in New York
It spells the thrill of first-nighting

glittering crowds and shimmering clouds
In canyons of steel
They're making me feel - I'm home

It's autumn in New York
That brings the promise of new love
Autumn in New York
Is often mingled with pain

Dreamers with empty hands
They sigh for exotic lands

It's autumn in New York
It's good to live it again

So nice having Dublin, Manchester, and Ontario via Germany with us. Love the ethnicity.

From Letty with love to the world

good evening all !

today is the birthday of Cy Walter .

Quote:
Cy Walter (September 16, 1915 - August 18, 1968) was an American café society pianist based in New York City for four decades. Dubbed the "Art Tatum of Park Avenue," he was praised for his extensive repertoire (with an emphasis on show tunes) and improvisatory skill.[1] His long radio and recording career included both solo and duo performances, and stints as accompanist for such elegant vocal stylists as Greta Keller, Mabel Mercer, and Lee Wiley.

here he is with a fine Cole Porter tune :

Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, That is my favorite song by Bette Midler. Thanks, Texas.

hbg, Mrs. Letty always enjoys what you play here. Dancing in the Dark was what I was doing when it was late in our wee studio. Razz

Today is Hank Williams, Sr.'s birthday, so here is a tribute to that man who was a vocalist and a poet.

Now one of my favorites by Irving Berlin.

Ah, that was the worse version of a tribute to Hank that I have ever heard. Rolling Eyes

I got the wrong one.

Today is this artist's birthday.

William Carlos Williams

I remember him best for The Red Wheelbarrow

William Carlos Williams is a favorite of mine. I once used his name as my own when signing for some encyclopedias. Seems these unscrupulous salesmen had taken to targeting sailors to give them "free" sets of the books. The sailor's signature was in reality a contract to pay for them, along with fancy dictionaries. After they duped my friend, I took to hitch hiking between the base and Long Beach and getting rides with the sales people. I signed for sets as Wystan Auden and Allen Ginsburg too. The last time I tried it, I laughed uncontrollably and they put me out of the car.
