edgar, thanks for your comment on Tommy, and I don't know Boom Chica Boom Chick. They sound a bit like rappers.

hbg, I don't know that great vocalist, but thanks for the info and his music.

Guess whose birthday is today. I saw this one on TCM and it had been colorized.

Happy birthday Fay Wray. as edgar knows I like the original.

@hamburgboy,
First time I heard that version of Just a Closer Walk.
I like the first and last versions of King Kong, but not the second one.

Sorry that I can't acknowledge ever contribution. As you all know, my way of saying thanking you is to thumb you up.

I miss au. He said there were no atheists in fox holes. I thought my goodnight song was about the buddy system in foxholes. Maybe I am wrong.

Saying goodnight with Bobby Darin. What a surprise that he sang this.

My Buddy appears on a vinyl album I have had for thirty years or more. Can't recall when I bought it now. The album in its entirety is in my opinion one of Bobby's very best.

All I could find, it's considered a WW I song. The music was written by Walter Donaldson, the lyrics by Gus Kahn. The song was published in 1922. Al Jolson's picture is on the original sheet music.
[Verse]

Life is a book that we study
Some of its leaves bring a sigh
There it was written my Buddy
That we must part you and I
[Refrain]

Nights are long since you went away
I think about you all thru the day
My Buddy, my Buddy
No Buddy quite so true
Miss your voice the touch of your hand
Just long to know that you understand
My Buddy, my Buddy
Your Buddy misses you
[Verse]

Buddies thru all of the gay days
Buddies when something went wrong
I wait alone thru the gray days
Missing your smile and your song

Gooooood Morning Folks.
Hi Miss Letty, sure hope you're feeling well.

Went to see Leonard on Thur, there's no stopping the man, he is awesome.

He debuted a new song that night. Titled 'I've Got A Secret', it uses some lyrics from another unreleased song, 'Feels So Good', which was debuted on Cohen's 2009 tour and has appeared on numerous setlists since, but has not been released as an official recording.
The song includes the lines: "I'd like to love you baby, but I don't feel right, I've got this full length mirror, and it ain't a pretty sight."

And here he is singing said song in Dublin last Thursday.

I have things that I must do today, so I'll have to be quick. Thanks to all of you for your contributions. Nice to see euro back as he always acknowledges my name as doe Trying to Help.

edgar, I always appreciate you contributions as you know.

Today is Alfred Noyes birthday, and I was supposed to read his poem at a forensic meet and woke up with the German measles.
