@Letty,
I like Willie Nelson and not just for his music, always came across as a down to Earth decent guy, warts n' all.
Mel is new to me, nice song but what's a hoss. Smile

@Letty,
You are too kind Letty, truth is, I always listen into WA2K.
Variety is the spice of life & you certainly get it here plus I've been introduced to many new and wonderful artists that you wont hear anywhere else.
Just fell out of love with posting, believe it or not I'm not a great fan of the com-pute-er. Not for me Facebook, Twittering etc etc and I'm not keyboard savvy which doesn't help. It drives my daughter crazy when I'm at the pc, Smile . Thump thump thump, my one fingered typing, he he.
I find it almost impossible to converse as my solo finger Smile cannot keep up with my thoughts, frustrating and annoying.
We do our best says you.

The Fields of Athenry is a gem, I think Paddy Reilly sings it best but the Kings were great too.
I'd love to visit the Andes.
Good Night.

good morning - and happy birthday to a great entertainer : George M Cohan .

Quote:
George Michael Cohan (pronounced Ko-han; July 3, 1878 – November 5, 1942), known professionally as George M. Cohan, was an American entertainer, playwright, composer, lyricist, actor, singer, dancer and producer.

Cohan began his career as a child, performing with his parents and sister in a vaudeville act known as "The Four Cohans." Beginning with Little Johnny Jones in 1904, he wrote, composed, produced, and appeared in more than three dozen Broadway musicals. Cohan published more than 300 songs during his lifetime, including the standards "Over There", "Give My Regards to Broadway", "The Yankee Doodle Boy" and "You're a Grand Old Flag".[1] As a composer, he was one of the early members of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). He displayed remarkable theatrical longevity, appearing in films until the 1930s, and continuing to perform as a headline artist until 1940.

Hello, everyone. Mimi Page is a new singer, only 26 years old. She does a very pretty version of Chris Isaak's Wicked Game.

as many of you know, I won't be coming into our radio station too often, but I always listen.

hbg, My favorite by you was Pete Fountain.

wandel, welcome back. Wow! Mini Page doing Wicked Game was great. Thanks for the introduction, Goethe.

Here are a couple of funnies. First, a positive dog song.

Now, a trio of songs by the "king". The first on is all we want to hear to match the other dog.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar, and I really enjoyed Teresa doing her waltz.

Today is this man's birthday, but first some info.

John Lee Ham (born July 3, 1946) is an American country music singer, known professionally as Johnny Lee. His 1980 single, "Lookin' for Love" not only spent three weeks at the top of the Billboard country singles chart in the second half of 1980 but also went to the Top 5 on the Pop charts, and Top 10 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary survey. He racked up a series of country hits in the early and mid-80s.

Now the song.
