@edgarblythe,
Thanks for your comment, edgar. Some students wanted the coyote to catch the road runner. The teacher remarked: what would the coyote do if he caught it? That made them think.

How about Walk Don't Run

@hamburgboy,
Hi all, good morning.

Hbg, when I was in Italy, I learned that "Funicoli, Funicola" was written to celebrate the opening of a funicular railway. Just where, I don't know; maybe the one in Montecatini.

Miss Letty, both of these links to "Walk, Don't Run" worked fine here.

Y'all have a nice day, hear?

Good morning to all of you from here in Florida.

edgar, thanks again for your comments and Wild Dog of Kentucky was great.

McTag, Welcome back. Thanks for the Southern drawl as it made me smile. Loved the BBC Prom song and hbg, as McTag noted my favorite by you was Funicali Funicala. Jack Hylton was good as well

I finally discovered why the music kept containing flaws. I was x ing out instead of making the entire song smaller.

Today is this guy's birthday, so let's hear one by him, shall we?

today is the birthday of :

Christoph Willibald Ritter von Gluck
...............................................................
( better not try pronouncing his name - you might break your tongue )
.....................................................................................................................

Quote:
Christoph Willibald Ritter von Gluck (2 July 1714 – 15 November 1787) was an opera composer of the early classical period. After many years at the Habsburg court at Vienna, Gluck brought about the practical reform of opera's dramaturgical practices that many intellectuals had been campaigning for over the years. With a series of radical new works in the 1760s, among them Orfeo ed Euridice and Alceste, he broke the stranglehold that Metastasian opera seria had enjoyed for much of the century.

Two version of Petula Clark singing 'Downtown' - I must admit, I much prefer the early version!
