I have two more jazz alphabet selections today. First up, Jaco Pastorius, *perhaps* the most celebrated electric bass player ever, at least in jazz. (James Jamerson of Motown's 'Funk Brothers' and Carol Kaye of the 'Wrecking Crew" are notable studio bassists.) Among his accomplishments, he invented fretless electric bass. From his debut album, Jaco does a Charlie Parker tune (composed by Miles Davis but credited to Parker), "Donna Lee":
