@Letty,
Oh,letty, I tried to post that one featuring just the record player instead
of mugshots. It's the best out of three tries. You know, like, a forgotten period piece from the sixties.

Looking for your lanterns now.

p.s.:
We're having a beautiful spring morning here on Wistful Vista.

@neko nomad,
You meant "play" of course, neko. While you look for those lanterns, here's another one that my brother sang.

There's a beautiful place in Virginia called Buena Vista.

Hope our edgar identifies that guy in the hat.

@edgarblythe,
That was Frank Sinatra, edgar? Shocked

Do you know this guy?

I most certainly know "old blue eyes" doing East of the Sun and West of the Moon, and thanks for your comments. I played those two songs that my brother sang because Memorial Day will soon be here.

Here's Frank and Jobim.

had to see an E.N.T. Specialist in a little country town about 45 minutes away

from here - nothing serious ; just had to have my ears " washed " after ear wax

removal .

the drive through the spring country-side inspired me to dig up this

John Denver Song :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK5uvOI3vL4

Quote:
The Hermes House Band is a Dutch pop band, established in 1984 by members of the Hermes fraternity/sorority in Rotterdam, Netherlands.[1] They have released more than twenty five albums and singles.

The band became famous in 1994 in both the Netherlands and Belgium, with their cover of the hit single, "I Will Survive"; the song has since sold over 2.5 million copies. In 1998, the single became a hit in Germany, and singer Judith Ansems was asked to promote the song there. The band got a local recording contract with Polydor and alongside Ansems, former singers Jop Wijlacker and Robin Maas were asked to record other singles such as "Country Roads" and "Que Sera Sera" in Germany under HHB International. Several of these were also released in the Netherlands.

Their biggest hit in the United Kingdom was their cover of "Country Roads", released shortly before Christmas 2001, which peaked at #7 in the UK Singles Chart, remaining in the Top 10 for five weeks.[2]

The man in the picture is not in a position to allow us to see his features well. It could be Sinatra or any of several other entertainers.

edgar, Loved Perry's Don't Let the Stars Get in Your Eyes. That rather plump guy was Frank, Jr.

hbg, Loved both versions of Waltzing Matilda. What a surprise to hear the Irish Rovers' version.

Another one by Marty.

Woodrow Charles "Woody" Herman (May 16, 1913 – October 29, 1987), was an American jazz clarinetist, alto and soprano saxophonist, singer, and big band leader. Leading various groups called "The Herd," Herman was one of the most popular of the 1930s and '40s bandleaders. His bands often played music that was experimental for their time. He was a featured halftime performer for Super Bowl VII.
