@edgarblythe,
No, I didn't know that, edgar.

I love Little Richard. Don't know Jenny Jenny, however. I guess my favorite by him is Long Tall Sally.

Here's a new face on the horizon to me, y'all. First some info on the birthday guy.

William Harold "Billy" Dean, Jr. (born April 2, 1962, in Quincy, Florida) is an American country music singer and songwriter. Billy Dean first gained national attention after appearing on the television talent competition Star Search. Active as a recording artist since 1990, he has recorded a total of eight studio albums (of which the first three have been certified gold by the RIAA) and a greatest hits package which is also certified gold. His studio albums have accounted for more than twenty hit singles on the Billboard country charts, including eleven Top Ten hits. Although he never reached the top of the Billboard country charts on his own, he reached Number One in 2000 as one of two guest vocalists on Kenny Rogers' "Buy Me a Rose", and had two Number Ones on the RPM country charts in Canada. He resides in Liberty, Tennessee.

Now, It's only the wind.

Satisfaction is the song that first made me notice the Stones. I don't love every single song they did, but I have many favorites.
Don't know the Baby Face song. Not really to my liking.

Good morning to our WA2K folks. edgar, I played the wrong Baby Face song, here is the one that I meant.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIw3dn4VC9k

Loved all of those photos of Abe and I also looked at more of the history of the man. It seems that new discoveries were made as to his health prior to his assassination. He may have been dying from some other disease.

Didn't know that song by "the fab four", however.

Looking through all of our "memories" here in our studio and decided to play this one by The Lettermen.

neko, Welcome back. Ah, Lonely Soldier Boy. Love it, nomad man.

hbg. Happy birthday, Don. Oh, Lonesome me was a goodie. Maple Syrup at the Sugar shop was great, too.

Another lonely man. My older sister and I decided he was more of a poet than a vocalist.

@Letty,
msletty , here is a musician who shares his birthday with Wayne Newton :

Quote:
Billy Joe Royal (born April 3, 1942, Valdosta, Georgia, United States) is an American singer.

Born in Valdosta and raised in Marietta in 1942, Royal became a local star at Savannah, Georgia's Bamboo Ranch in the 1950s and 1960s. He is best known for the 1965 US Top 10 pop hit "Down in the Boondocks," which, along with the singles "I Knew You When" (Top 20, 1965) and "Hush" (1967), were written and produced by Joe South. His 1969 single, "Cherry Hill Park," peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100.[1] In the 1970s his recording of "Heart's Desire" gained popularity for Northern soul enthusiasts and was regularly played in Northern soul nightclubs.[2]

During the 1980s, Royal scored a successful comeback with several Top 10 country hits, including "Tell It Like It Is," "Burned Like a Rocket," and

"I'll Pin a Note on Your Pillow."

edgar, Loved that one by Don as well.

hbg, Thanks for the info about Billy Jo Royal. Don't know I'll Pin a Note on Your Pillow. Without verification, didn't he do Down in the Boondocks?

Here's something different. We'll dedicate this to hebba and the yitwails.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Thanks again for your comment and I simply did that combination of music for the man who did so many beautiful wood sculptures. He's from Denmark. Yitwail, of course, from Hawaii.

Loved Harry and Miriam doing One More Dance as well as Jerry Lee's No Head Stone.

Going to say goodnight a bit early as once again I'm a bit under the weather.

First, Carrie and I watched this movie The Life of Pi and here is a lovely theme from it.

Now, dear Al Jolson.
