I've probably watched the movie of My Fair Lady ten or more times.
I've had the Spike Jones album, Thank You Music Lovers, for over thirty years. Don't recall for sure. A few years ago, I was given another of Spike's albums, with two or three records in it.

@edgarblythe,
I have no idea why I know Spike Jones, edgar, but that song was funny. Yep, I have watched My Fair Lady a number of times.

Casablanca was on the other night, and here is a brief part of it.

Now, the full song.

ah, I thought that y'all would like the tribute to Andy.

Going to say goodnight with two songs. First some info on Dean.

Dean Stockwell is an American actor of film and television, with a career spanning over 65 years. As a child actor under contract to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer he first came to the public's attention in films.

Now, the tribute.

Dean was in that one.

Now, Mario. Bet our edgar will know this one.

Mario's song is a personal favorite and I consider Ray's Georgia one of the greatest recordings of them all.
I heard Gibbs song the first time, but failed to mention it.

Hurry back, edgar. Didn't know Jimmy's Big Boss Man. Thanks for the introduction.

hbg, I most certainly know Five Foot Two Eyes of Blue. Did that one for ehBeth because there was a resurgence of "the flapper" dance later.

Also know You're The Cream in My Coffee, but not the group who played it.

Today is Elizabeth Barrett Browning's birthday, and we have Nelson Eddy doing a poem by Robert to her. First, however, the poem.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEj1SOw30Lg

Now, Nelson.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEUbneMwaHY

Bet you know this one, Ontario.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLdwTtdl2cQ

and two versions of the lyrics.

The more we get together,
together, together,
the more we get together,
the happier we shall be.
For your friends
are my friends,
and my friends
are your friends.
The more we get together,
the happier we shall be.

Did you ever see a lassie,
A lassie, a lassie?
Did you ever see a lassie,
Go this way and that?
Go this way and that way,
Go this way and that way.
Did you ever see a lassie,
Go this way and that?

Did you ever see a laddie,
A laddie, a laddie?
Did you ever see a laddie,
Go this way and that?
Go this way and that way,
Go this way and that way.
Did you ever see a laddie,
Go this way and that?

good morning msletty , ed and all listeners to WA2K Radio !

today is the birthday of the composer of " The Flight of the Bumble-Bee " ;

Quote:
Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov (Russian: Никола́й Андре́евич Ри́мский-Ко́рсаков, Nikolaj Andreevič Rimskij-Korsakov, Russian pronunciation: [nʲɪkəˌlaj ˌrʲim.skʲɪj ˈkorsəkəf], 18 March [O.S. 6 March] 1844[a 1] – 21 June [O.S. 8 June] 1908) was a Russian composer, and a member of the group of composers known as The Five.[a 2] He was a master of orchestration. His best-known orchestral compositions—Capriccio Espagnol, the Russian Easter Festival Overture, and the symphonic suite Scheherazade—are staples of the classical music repertoire, along with suites and excerpts from some of his 15 operas. Scheherazade is an example of his frequent use of fairy tale and folk subjects

Loved your tribute to Wes Montgomery, and here's another by The Bumble Bee Man.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZK93C5WUaQ

and, y'all, an update of the lyrics by Johnny Mercer as done by Mario.

Thanks for restoring our signal, edgar. Love Leah by Roy Orbison. Your comments are always appreciated.

Here's a birthday lady, but first some info.

Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, and philanthropist. She made her recording debut in 1990 under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, and released her self-titled debut studio album, Mariah Carey

Now, the lady sings.

good night / good morning !

today is the birthday of Maurice Ravel .

Quote:
Joseph-Maurice Ravel (March 7, 1875 – December 28, 1937) was a French composer known especially for his melodies, orchestral and instrumental textures and effects. Along with Claude Debussy, he was one of the most prominent figures associated with Impressionist music. Much of his piano music, chamber music, vocal music and orchestral music has entered the standard concert repertoire.

Ravel's piano compositions, such as Jeux d'eau, Miroirs, Le tombeau de Couperin and Gaspard de la nuit, demand considerable virtuosity from the performer, and his orchestral music, including Daphnis et Chloé and his arrangement of Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, use a variety of sound and instrumentation. Ravel is perhaps known best for his orchestral work Boléro (1928), which he considered trivial and once described as "a piece for orchestra without music".[1]
